What type of pitcher do you prefer?

Do you like high velo guys? or control guys with filthy breaking stuff? and who is your favourite pitcher to use right now?
I personally like the plain filthy guy's and my favourite pitcher to use has to be Gore.

One that doesn't throw meatballs all the time. He's not in the game.

lol I'll be honest I haven't been experiencing that issue nearly as much since the latest patch.

Wish I could say the same, but glad to hear that at least some us can pitch.

I prefer control as i like to work the corners but since everything can be a meatball these days I may as well have some gas behind that meatball thus prefer heater pitchers.
I packed Nate Pearson last night and [censored], that FB with slow curve and change can be powerful. Controlling him for anything other than the FB seems tough tho.

This is 100% accurate. His fastball isn’t that tough to spot but the rest is. If you work off the fastball, often times it doesn’t matter where the other pitches go. 38 K’s in 21 IP for me. Small sample size but best ratio on my team

I only just started my RS last night but I got to pitch two games with him due to early quits and had 12 K's in 7 innings. It was on veteran so not exactly flush with talent (including me lol) but still effective given the PCI sizes.
I feel like if I can get better at keeping his offspeed around the zone then that FB becomes even more dangerous because an opponent can't just sit on FB knowing the offspeed is too difficult to consistently throw strikes.

When you get to HOF I prefer high velo guys forsure. Everybody waiting on FB then hit em with the change up . I have newhouser , oswalt and Vida. Those are the only 3 I have to use. Also u can tell right away if he can’t hit the Fastball . Pitch speeds are high .

Yeah if those were on veteran (granted talent was probably not the best), imagine higher up. My numbers are all on HOF (RS and event)

Once you get to higher difficulties, velo is the most important thing.

would you say a pitcher who has a wide range of velo changes in his pitch repetoire would work on HOF? Like the reason I love Gore and even Manning is that there is a drastic change between their fastball and offspeed. both top out in high 90's I think Gore is 98, but his change and curve both come in at 81 and 78. I know in All Star divisions I am having great success with him in the limited times I have used him.

Yeah, pitch speeds are huge. You want a guy who throws at least 97-99, who also has slow off-speed stuff you can sprinkle in now and again. But I realized most people can’t hit the fastball in higher difficulties. So I usually throw it all around the strike zone, and when he seems like he’s starting to time it a little I’ll throw a slider or changeup.

Couldn’t say it better . I pitch the same way

I usually go for guys like Oswalt. Pretty good fastball with a slow curve. I try to find guys with that same pitch selection when I can too, 4 seam, curve, sinker, slider, and change. I get killed on cutters, so I just dont throw them much.

Do you have Sixto? I know he's not end game but he has a nice selection, no curve..but throwing an 81mph circle change after a 100 mph fastball makes up for it lol

Right now I'm running Oswalt, Pearson, Reyes, Smoltz, and AJ Burnett.
I just blew most of my stubs on Pearson, so I'm going to wait a bit on a fifth starter.

Yea man you just need 3 starters as of now . Get guys with high stamina. Kluber is better than Newhouse , but I chose Newhouse bc he can pitch pretty much every 2 games. I go Vida , newhouser , oswalt . That’s all u need . Use those stubs to improve your pen or hitting

I know you only need 3 starters. It's a known issue with this game. I'm stubborn though. I roll 5 starter in order and only use a starter in relief when I absolutely have to.
