Why am I being matched with people in Mexico and the West coast if I live in Boston

I still havent figured how to find out where my opponent is playing from. Unless I message them. And that aint happening.
You have to message them unless they have social media attached to their profile that says where they live. Most people will respond if you mention the area you’re from first.

I wish I could play ppl from a different area. I get Giants/A's but the majority of time Dodgers players.

It really doesn’t work especially when the timing windows for each game is drastically different the online component really is a bad product. The fact the games are all homerun dependent shows how little work they’ve done on MLB 23.
The desynch on pitches coming in is probably my biggest grip with how the online plays they need to figure out a better system then trying to guess where the micro stutter is on each pitch is when it comes in. Some people are much better at this then others, but it’s extremely hard to relearn how to play a totally different game after 100s of hours of offline where you can crush the cpu 15-0 on All Star but barely make contact online. All Star + is an excuse to mask the sub par multiplayer because All Star+ is different from game to game.
People aren’t bad at the game the online is bad. I would rather lose 20-18 then struggle to hit a ball because the game is functionally broken during many multiplayer games. The game plays better on slower connections as other posters have pointed out and that’s a massive issue plaguing the game right now.

Yeah I just played someone wearing Lichtenstein jerseys. This is getting out of hand. There’s no way they could’ve just equipped the jerseys without actually living there.

Ya, I kind of explained I’ve been asking people where they are from if it’s not already in their profile, but nice attempt at a gaslight 🫤

I could care less where my opponent is. We are essentially going to have the same connection to each other whether it’s great bad. I can maybe count on one hand where o thought connection was an issue when I played a game

You can say anything you want. It doesn’t mean I have to believe it.

Well said. I am currently only playing online rated with the settings all-star pitching and vet hitting. I feel the game plays good online with these settings. Would I prefer the game work right? Of course, but I love baseball and will make due with what they give us. Game plays great offline.

That’s really not how it works the game speed will default to the lowest connection. I have a sneaky suspicion many of the people who don’t notice lag are probably on sub par internet here. A good connection will play catch up to a bad connection not the other way around it’s peer 2 peer connections.

You’re an SDS white knight so I take anything you say with a grain of salt.

This is truth. I have 85 down and 10 up, not the best but decent. I see this and it's probably somebody on wifi down at 25, up at 1-2.

I know reading comprehension is tough sometimes but no one is going off the jerseys. Team name and message them but I can understand how that is a very hard concept for some of you.

Seriously what type of matchmaking are we dealing with here if my opponents are a 6+ hour plane ride from my location. Does SDS have any plans to fix this nonsense or is it more of the game is playing as intended garbage. Plus the Xbox PC players are pulling all sorts of network manipulation and using the pci on the mouse can we at least get the game off the cloud on Xbox for real.
First year playing on Xbox and I've seen more bs this year than in my previous 6 years on PS. I won't get it again on Xbox and will turn off crossplay. Lot more turds playing Xbox than PS from the games I've played on both.

Sooooooo many 2k shills in here, trying to bring down SDS, nice try lol

I could go back and find posts where you and actually a couple of people on here said they were going off jerseys and team names but I don’t want to spend the time doing it.

Great then why bother to join the conversation in the first place?
