Wild Card Question

So I have a Pirates theme team.... I was updating with the Season 3 Paul Skenes and Starling Marte cards and it was making me choose only 1 for the Wild Card slot.
I get that the rest of the team isn't Season 3 eligible, but I thought the Wild Card slot worked the other way around.

You need to generate a Best S3 Squad first...then you go through and pick a Set 1 wildcard...If you're just editing an Existing Lineup...you'll get what's happening to you.

If you’re not set to Set 3, those Set 3 cards will act as your Wild Card, and you can only have one active on each squad.

Even in just Vs CPU? I thought that was more or less a free-for-all

Yes, if you're just wanted to use whatever cards you want for CPU...You can generate a "Best Lineup" that's not Season Specific and you can use whatever cards you want...It shouldn't ever ask you to Select a Wild Card...I'm guessing you've maybe got a Season 1 or Season 2 Linup...It's have S1, S2, next to the Lineup Name...and you're attempting to change that which triggers asking to make cards wildcards that shouldn't be eligible in the lineup

In order to have a "free-for-all" lineup you need to make sure your lineup does not have an "S1", "S2", or "S3" designation. Go to "Generate Best Squad" without a season designation and you should be able to use Core, Set 1, Set 2 and Set 3 with no restrictions on how many you can use for any... the wild card comes into play when you make a season-specific lineup.
