RTTS tips

So with the skill progression glitch in 23, I've resorted to mostly playing 21 lately. While playing it I've googled how to do certain things in the game itself (trying to steal home, best way to get a quick call up, etc) and noticed older posts complaining about getting bumped back down to the Minors the next season. Everyone of the complaints I read all had a similar problem: not playing the actual games and building up the skill. Every post or comment I saw mentioned that they're players were still around 70 overall (not a solid rating for a major leaguer), they completely skip Spring Training, they adjust the sliders to their favor (never recommend doing so as it can lower your skill gain) as well as playing at beginner level and sounds like most of them simulate their way through the Minors. So my tips are thus: don't touch the sliders, it'll hurt your xp gain. Don't simulate games, play them. Build your player up, unlock silver, gold and diamond skill sets/perks. Doing all that should give you a 90 overall by spring training of what should be your first full year in the majors. Don't worry about contract negotiations aside from trying to get about an extra 20% in contract pay above what they offer, you'll be forced to sign the contract for at least your first 6 seasons. As a two-way player (SP/RF), I won NL Rookie of the Year, NL Home Run Champion, NL Silver Slugger P, NL Post-season MVP and World Series MVP. I entered 2022 Spring Training with a 91 overall for my SP Loadout and 89 overall for my RF Loadout. Both loadouts have increased 1 point overall after all courtesy of Spring Training and the first 24 games of the 2022 MLB Regular season. Yes, my new contract is worded as a Double-A pitching contract that's simply higher in pay. I have received no indication that I'll be getting sent back down anytime soon. I play on beginner, but I actually do everything and run default gameplay sliders.
