Wild Card Slot question
-
Ok, I have gone it to ‘manage squad’ and generated a Set 3 Lineup.
I’d like to put in murakami as my DH (set 1 wildcard).
I went to my DH slot, pressed ‘A’ (Xbox) and selected him and exited. He is listed as my DH and the ‘Season 3 Eligible’ box is still checked.
Am I good to go for Season 3?
Thanks in advance.

I have a similar issue. Created a new squad will all Set 2 and 3 players outside of Chipper who I put at 3rd. It says wild card is off but says I am Season 3 Eligible. Very odd.

So looking at my screen right now, I have Trout at CF. Above his head it has the purple "wild" box. I built an entire set 2/3 team, then selected him. It asked me if I wanted him as my WC, I said yes, then I got a screen that said "Wildcard Activated".

I am on an XBox. Definitely have not seen any “wildcard activated” message.

I don’t know if it actually says anything. I just kept removing people until Murakami was left and the screen said I was S3 eligible. Then I took him out to plug in all the June players and try and get Ohtani. Lol.

So, here’s what I did. Prior to Season 3, I created a lineup of Set 2 and Core guys in anticipation of the day.
After the season started, that lineup says, season 3 eligible in blue. My other lineups say season 3 ineligible in red.
I took the blue lineup and changed the DH to set 1 Murakami. I get no prompt about Wild Card slot or anything like that. It just changed to him and that lineup still says season 3 eligible in blue. I tried to put another set 1 guy in that lineup, it then said Season 3 ineligible in red. I changed it back, and lineup is good
I’m wondering if I let CPU create a season 3 lineup FIRST and then swap out to Murakami, I’ll then get all the Wild Card prompts that others are mentioning.
When I look at that lineup thru the app, it says that Wild card is “OFF”. Does that mean it is not being used or that the WC is being used on my Offense?
Confusing.

Well. I had to delete my Topps now / monthly grind squad which I’ve had since the start. No matter who I put in (it was all set 3!) it said. Assign wild card. So I did. Then I put in Hayes at 3B. Assign wild card? So I did. It then deleted Guriney and replaced him with Gerrit Cole. So I replace Cole then get the wild card prompt again, I put Guirney in and then it deletes Hayes and puts Chipper back in. Ffs.
I deleted the whole squad and assigned fresh and was ok.
Buggy.

Here’s what I did: I went to an empty lineup slot and let the CPU create the “best Set 3” lineup.
Once I did that, I went to my DH slot to substitute “The Babe” as my DH. I then saw the prompt to assign as my Wild Card. Which I did. His card now has a purple outline to it when looking at the lineup screen
It’s a bit different and a little funky, but I’m good now.
