Live Series collection/ Set 1 prices
-
I’m the top 8 cards away from completing the live series collection. Trout , ohtani, goldy, arenado, mookie, degrom, Edwin diaz, and JV are what I still need. [censored] near a million stubs.
I’m having such a hard time determining if Set 1 prices are going to start dropping and lowering on Friday & Saturday when new players enter the game. I have zero intention of collecting set 1 cards because I don’t have “that” many. Maybe 90 total. But I have the 99 trout , 99 ohtani , 99 Posada, 99 hader, 99 Gagne, 99 Corbin Carroll , 99 tucker, 99 fergie, 97 Hunter Brown, 97 Sean Doolittle… and a few others that overall could get me pretty dang close to what I need to collect everything and have these core cards for the whole season from the live collection.
Based on my personal previous history I stop playing the game after a few months cause I either get bored or life happens or whatever. So it would be nice to be able to hop on after not playing for a few weeks and have some studs I can play with immediately and not worry about what “season or set” it is or worry about grinding to get some good players to want to keep playing.
Do y’all think these elite WBC cards and set 1 card prices start to drop in price soon or think they will stay relatively the same for a while? Idk what SDS plan is for set 1 cards 6 months down the road from now. I feel like prices will start to drop and I should take advantage and sell some of some of these high priced players as i think their prices will start to drop soon. What are y’all opinions on how the marketplace reacts with set 1 cards when they drop the set 2 cards in a couple days? Thanks for y’all’s input.

Collection will get more expensive before it goes down. Expect a stubb sale before memorial day weekend.
I don't think the collection is really worth it, especially if you don't play all year, but Sosa is really nice.

Set 1 cards could go up, but then we ve known that the potm was the last content for set 1 for a little bit now.
set 1 cards will be useable through set 2 so the prices might not change much, it depends on what the set 2 cards are, it might trigger a sell off of set 1 at times for stubs to aquire set 2 cards from those not collecting.
but there is no precedent for any of this so it is impossible to predict what will happen. -

Not sure if this helps or not; but look at the first BR Flawless Rewards. They're only available right now on the marketplace.
Two (Vaughn and Mathews) are around 45K. That's what they were when the program ended.
Feller is up to 90K. He's a little higher because he's a pitcher.
Also, the WS rewards are roughly around 40-50K each. They got as low as 25-30K back when we had the Flash Sale.
Live Series may stay at a premium right now because who's locked behind them and they are Core cards.
Set 1 cards may jump a little in value once the new Season/Set drops, as they won't be available other than on the marketplace, but they'll probably fall to QS or stay about 5-10K above QS value.
I would sell off any high (80-100K+) Set 1s, unless you want that player, ASAP.
I'm assuming most of those cards, which were available in ATW and WTMS packs will drop once those packs start showing up in Conquests and programs.
You could hold onto them until we have the first stub sale, which should be soon, but remember any of the Set 1 cards, minus one if you use it in the Wild Card spot, won't be usable in certain modes (by usable I mean you can still use them but you won't gain an PXP, not sure about XP, towards any of the programs) once Set 3 drops.
I messed up. I locked everything player card wise in when I should've just sold off whom I had that wasn't Core.
