Set 1 collections completed after season 2 launches

So I’ve maxed out my XP for season 1 and have enough Set 1 cards that I could commit to the Set 1 collection to get over the 200 card collection reward that gives me another boss and a bunch of XP. Since season 2 is about to drop, I’m thinking of waiting to commit those cards until after Season 2 goes live so I can use those XP points to get a jump start on the season 2 reward path. Just wanted to make sure this is a viable plan and that I’m not gonna lose this XP if I wait, like I’m planning to.

I just went ahead and got all three bosses for set 1 so I don't have to think about it.
