multiple rtts players but only 1 is accessible
-
I have 2 rtts players. I can't access the one that I originally made. So I'm stuck with the second player and I don't want to play with that one. Is this a bug or am I just an idiot?
-
No bug. Because they tied your player to DD you can only create one player. It then moves everything to your new named player. You can recreate the guy, but you will NEVER see that original player. You can thank microtransactions for that.

So if I create another guy will I be able to get all of the same perks I had on the old one?

I don't remember because it was so long ago on 21 so I don't want to say yes or no. I would say err on the side of caution and expect no, so that if you can get them it will be a pleasant surprise.
I am using 2020 version, not only so I can try to complete everything, but because on that version you can start a new career after your first one is done.

You can bounce between different RTTS players by activating the ballplayer you want through the big round icon in the top left corner of the main menu. You can only access the activated ballplayer, so you have to activate the ballplayer you want to play with.

Tried this. Have multiple RTTS players. However regardless of which one I load and activate, they’re all the same player on the same team at the same point in their career. It changes the players appearance but that’s all. There’s only one career regardless of which player I activate. This is awful. What am I doing wrong? Or is this just yet another flaw in the game?

How are you entering the mode?
If you "default" button enter, it'll load the most recent career. When you're playing with an older player, you need to "more options" enter RTTS, where you can pick "load game" then the specific (matching) player you want to load.
-
I've tried all that. No matter which one I load, the player looks the same, has the same name, and has the same perks. All that changes is the team he's on and the position he plays. Everything else is identical, including the perks which don't make sense for different styles of ballplayers. Is this really how this works now. We had The Show20 before and RTTS was great. This is terrible.

So I go to the icon top left corner, select "See All Ballplayers" and load a different one that is saved. Once that players becomes the active ballplayer and go into RTTS to play with them, we get "Heads Up! Ballplayer Conflict. you are about to load a ballplayer into a RTTS save that has a different position. To continue using the saved file, please create a new ballplayer or change to one that matches." None of this makes any sense. Can anyone explain or help?

When "default activating" RTTS, it "defaults" to the most recent character's save / career.
You have to "more options activate" RTTS and manually select the previsous ballplayer's save (and therefore career)To explain this in an example:
I actually have 3 Players - Stan the SP/1B for BOS, Stanley the 2B for the Cardinals, and "Ardrian" (one of my ancient D&D names) as a Catcher for the Red Sox. I created the three ballplayers in the order I've named.Right now, since "Ardrian" was the most recent character I've "created a save for", when I "default" enter RTTS, his career is the one that'll load.
Meanwhile, I've since decided that it's time to bring Stanley (the Cardinals' 2B) back to action. I did the "upper left corner round icon" business to set him as the Active Ballplayer.
Therefore, if I "default activate" RTTS, Stanley attempts to "fit into" Ardrian's Red Sox save/career.
So I "more options", "load saved game" to enter RTTS, and see the list of all 3 players/careers with Ardrian on top (most recent), Stanley in the middle, and Stan on bottom. I pick Stanley's save from there, and everything is right where he left off.Warning: Advanced materials follow
I "could" make Stanley the "default" save by manually saving from that little tablet in the corner of the locker room. Then, if I wanted to shift back to my Catcher Ardrian, I'd have to do the "more options, load game" stuff to access his career...
