Why does Mini Seasons ruin my roster?

I spent 20 minutes getting my roster exactly how I want it for TA. I start mini seasons and they've created a new roster for me. I don't want that. So I change it again and when I go into play the game, it's changed again. Am I doing something wrong or did someone actually think this was a good idea?

Your DD rosters don't carry into Mini Seasons, as there are three different modes.
You can edit your rosters before starting a game, every game. -
OK. My other question is, why are some players not available at all within mini seasons?

Within Team Affinity Mini Season?
Because its a program specific mode, You can only use cards from the Team Affinity Program and live series cards for that. -
