I HATE the new abbreviated counts in Events!!!! WHY has this been added?!
-
What is the brilliant idea behind starting the counts in Events? I played my first game this year and had no idea what was going on when I struck out on the 2nd pitch, and then I saw the new change. I utterly, totally detest this stupid new change! Why did SDS do it? It' s not remotely baseball. It takes away strategy (like bunting, for example) when you suddenly have 2 strikes before you've even set foot in the box. CHANGE THIS BACK!!!! It's the worst change you've ever made.
-
They do this every year for certain events, it’s nothing new, the next event will be back to normal pitch counts, but you will likely see this again in another event down the road.
-
I always skip these events. I like that it speeds the game up but it just adds more RNG. Sometimes you benefit, other times you go an inning pitching out of a 2-0 count every AB.
-
Settle down. Sheesh. At least one event every year has quick counts. It's not a "change" at all.
Also, you should check the event rules before playing. That's the actual change that needs to happen.
And skip events you don't like. I never do the moonshot event because I find it frustrating -- I'm a better pitcher than a hitter. If they did it to where the first guy to hit 5 home runs wins, then maybe....

To each their own as I much prefer Quick Counts for Events. So much faster to complete and move on imo.

I think every count starts with at least a ball and strike, so 2-0 counts do not happen. I like it as a change of pace, but wouldn’t want it often.
But I hate that every event is All Star now.

BR has consistent rules. RS has consistent rules.
Events is a mish-mash. Always have been.
(BR should get rid of supercharged players, btw.)

This is what Events is supposed to be. It is supposed to be different parameters between usable cards, ballparks, rules, etc. that changes every week or two. I am typically not a big Quick Counts fan either, but it is a nice change of pace sometimes. I actually randomly decided to play this one last night and it was a lot of fun. I just hope SDS keeps up with the variety on Events this year and doesn't revert to moonshot every other week like they did last year.
-
I actually prefer quick counts with events. Better than the last “event” since most events are too loose in restrictions to make it actually an event since most ppl can just use almost their normal lineup

I played an Event game to get an Egg. Pitch speeds felt like Veteran but supposedly on AS. It was easy to hit.
-
I don't mind it. Makes for some nice quick games. I would not want it to always be like this for events, but having it for certain ones once in a while is nice.
-
it was a bad idea to have for the egg hunt a bunch of people tried multi player games for the first time trying to get eggs and had nothing but matchups against waybetter players in some modes and the stupied quick counts in events it just proves to offline players that online play is just not worth it or fun

Maybe slow down, read the event settings / requirements, THEN play!?!?

i normally am fine with quick counts but the stamina issue makes things unplayable

That's just how events are... that's why this Event is called "See Ball, Hit Ball"
If every Event was the same it might as well be BR but with your own inventory instead of drafting your players.

I guess I've never played in an event like this before, and wasn't aware they do this on occasion every season. But I didn't see any mention of it in the Rules section of the event. Sorry if I overreacted to a common occurrence. That said, still not a fan.
-
I'm personally not a fan of events. It's like conquest but you actually play against a real person. To me the rewards are ok, but at some point I can just buy them later instead of the grind. That's me though.

Literally the second rule on the event homepage says quick counts enabled...
That said, quick counts sucks [censored].3 inning games are already quick enough, I dont need added RNG to make it even faster, especially when it always screws one person. One guy gets a bunch of 3-1 counts in the top of the third and then the guy losing in the bottom of the 3rd gets 1-2 counts.

Here's the thing... you didn't have to win the game(s) to get the egg. I think you had to win your ranked game but not the events one. I ended up winning my ranked game and if you are playing for the first time in ranked you'll be in spring training so I'd imagine at some point you'd get that first win if you play the mode consistently enough, not to mention getting credit for innings and other stats with the Ranked Seasons Program... should be more of an incentive for me to play Ranked more. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my 1 ranked and 2 events games I played this morning.
