I'm just wondering why "simulation" would be chosen over "competitive" for gameplay styles? I posed the question on Operation Sports asking which is better for offline franchise mode and I received the typical "whatever suits your style the best" answers which wasn't what I was looking for. Although, one person did say the type of control settings you use could work better on specific gameplay styles. They mentioned that using zone hitting and pinpoint pitching (which I currently use) would be better suited using the "competitive" gameplay style. Do you guys think this is true? Or is simulation still the way to go ?

Best argument I could make for simulation is a player using it would want results to mirror the players ratings and not allow their own abilities to slant their statistics. I use the Dodgers and Austin Barnes is a legitimate threat on offense for me but on simulation he probably wouldn’t be.

I see, so you think if the user is playing using the zone hitting PCI on legendary difficulty that they should be using hardcore because that way their input would trump player ratings? i.e. eliminating more randomness (RNG) from the computer like if you were playing on simulation?

I personally think your hitting and pitching style would be better suited for competitive. You’re too good for simulation. Simulation could cheat you.

Competitive is harder to play than simulation. I prefer simulation because my eyes aren't that good and my reaction isn't that great either. I'm 73 years old. Try whichever one you want and compare them.
