I am mostly happy with just staying on the '22 version, but if there are improvements to the following, then I will be moved enough to want to upgrade to the next version.

I've done manual roster updates before (yes, one player at a time, multiplied by 30 teams) and I'll do it again, but only if I know the quality of my everyday play in Franchise mode will improve. So if you're willing to share your experience on any of these points, I would be grateful.

    1.) Has baserunning/stealing/pickoffs been normalized?
Catcher arms are way too OP, both in my favor and against my favor, and it does not accurately reflect real life play at all. Even when I try to painstakingly get good leads and jumps, guys like Trevor Story (87 speed, 73 steal) are putting up 45% steal rate. Meanwhile Gary Sanchez somehow looks like Yadier Molina with the arm. And pickoffs miraculously only happen in late innings of games in crucial one-run situations. This happens regardless of my changes on the applicable settings sliders.

So is this improved at all? Or is baserunning still clunky and dumb?

2.) Uniforms. I'm assuming new 2023 City Connect unis are only going to be in the 23 version, and that nothing will be updated in '22 anymore, correct? If this is the case, and MLB '22 will not receive new uniforms that come out this year, then I may get this year's version just off this alone.

3.) Would I be able to seamlessly port my franchise mode teams over into '23? Same coaches, same farm system, same contracts? (Looks like this is a no but if anybody has other info, greatly appreciate it)

4.) Is there any way to now see the uniform numbers of your coaches on a roster screen in the menus, or to take a look at the manager/coaching staffs of other teams? This game series has yet to do that. It'd be cool to keep track of which managers come and go, seeing who the CPU decides to fire or hire on its own. I've sent it in as a feature request to SDS a while back.

5.) Control of uniforms for teams I don't manage/control in the playoffs

I control two teams. One made the playoffs, one missed the playoffs. I wanted to play the NL Wild Card game which included two teams I don't control. I was unable to alter their uniform sets even if I selected my profile as the one to control that team for that game. Usually I am able to change both teams uniforms even if I am just going to simulate it as a spectator.

6.) Unrealistic cutoff situation where 1B backs up 2B

There are times when a gapper is hit into the outfield, and both the SS and second baseman go out to shallow outfield in an attempt to retrieve the outfielder's cutoff throw, leaving second base to be protected by....the first baseman. This almost never happens in real life. If the gapper is hit into Left or left-center field then the shortstop is the one who goes out to get the cutoff, and the second baseman stands at 2B. If it's hit to RF or right-center....then it's the second baseman out in shallow OF to retrieve it, with the shortstop covering second base.

7.) Player faces for Curt Casali, Mitch Haniger, Harold Castro and many others have been replaced with a generic player face that looks nothing like them.

Example of that player face model (it even somehow replaced Yadier Molina's actual face scan midway through 2022. I know because I had Yadi on my franchise team the whole year. Something happened in a regularly scheduled update that changed a bunch of the faces to this)

clarification: Am specifically referring to the Jung-Hoo Lee one as the 'default' face that erroneously got saved over a bunch of actual real players' faces

That is definitely not what Jung-Hoo Lee, Mitch Haniger, Curt Casali, Yadier Molina, etc look like

    1. Cutoff to the gaps on deep gap hits on a sure doubles when no one is on base the first baseman is supposed to cover second, thats a common double cut off play.

Have you watched the Franchise stream?

Ultimately gameplay is going to be gameplay and from what I've played in Diamond Dynasty I like it more than in previous years. I have yet to touch Franchise but I liked what I saw on stream with improvements to things like the Draft and I am hoping to soon tap into that mode to see all that it has to offer as it has been awhile since I really locked in with this mode... I'd say it is worth the purchase for Franchise-only as I feel like the gameplay is going to always be the gameplay no matter the mode with the exception of playing someone head-to-head online... for me that's where I typically see the issues stemming from.

Good idea, will check that out @romeischillin

Another annoyance about Franchise mode that's minor but I'd love if it was fixed: a way to actively develop and increase a starting pitcher's stamina rating.

It feels like every starter is doomed to gradually lose stamina the more time goes on in a franchise. I rarely if ever see anyone gain a point for it. It would be great if there is some kind of way to explain what you need to do to intentionally stretch a starter out.

Yeah when it comes to attributes in Franchise that's always been something that I kind of just took for what it was... it wasn't until recently when playing a Madden Franchise that I actually attempted to manually control training so I'm not too familiar with how that works.

One thing I will say is that I hope the development of players while in the Minor League system is improved because I'd like to see guys like Francisco Alvarez and Brett Baty for my Mets (for example) develop to 90+ overall stars if they are performing to that level... same with draft prospects. In previous years it got to a point where I'd rather just rely on free agency to keep my team competitive when all aspects of team building (draft, trades, free agency, and minor league development) should be used to achieve that goal.

Just as a warning. There is no wind in the game so if that’ll bother you like it does me you’re warned. As for your questions. I’ll summarize a little to try and be helpful. No comment on steals as for I use the Dodgers and don’t have many guys who can steal and haven’t tried to steal much. The new City Connect will be added as they’re added as they were in 2022. You cannot port your 2022 franchise into 2023. From what I understand it has something to do with the current generation consoles. You cannot see your coaches numbers. I haven’t made it into the post season but I don’t use 30 team control but I assume if you do you can control those teams. The cutoff system seems the same. Players on the 40 man are back in the game however Fernando Tatis Jr is not on the Padres at launch. I assume he’ll be there the roster update after his suspension ends.

The new scouting/draft feature is pretty amazing.

none of the previous little irks or issues have been fixed. there is nothing here except for just the thrill of having the newest game. you cant continue franchises from previous years nor can u play all your previous rtts players from last year. ..and supposedly theres an issue drafting with multiple user teams. the question to ask is this: how disposable is the $60 or so for you? thats what it comes down to.

    No

The bullpen is a mess and teams don't sign any free agents or try to improve.
