Hoping this hasn't been posted before, but I have a RTTS SS with 88 speed and 85 STL, and everytime the computer attempts a pick off and it goes in slow mo I get picked off doesn't matter if I am/am not hold LB to lean toward second and hold the LS to return to base, I get picked off, anyone else noticing this, and have any fixes?

I apologize if you are doing this already, but you need to ALWAYS hold the controller towards the return to base once on until the pitch is thrown. If you don't, there are times where even though you are still stuck in the AI having the runner take his lead they will throw over and you are cooked.

As mentioned above, you have to hold the stick back to the base until you are ready for your jump. A big hint is to watch the catcher and as soon as he changes his stance is when you want to time your jump.

Right now I've been using the buttons for steal (ZL/L2 return, ZR/R2 Advance) along with the L(1) / R(1) for leading, though it's worked the same way for me on analog stick running as well...

When the game drops into "slo mo", be inputting "Return" nigh-immediately.

What "kills" my player (besides me missing the cue) is when it doesn't drop into slo-mo before the pickoff throw. Then, I'm usually toast, think I beat the throw once.

Yea I am always holding controller to return, and when slow mo finally turns off I still get picked off and I only have step lead past the initial step.

you don't really need an extra step lead to steal 2nd base as long as you get good jump. All the extra lead does is make pitcher throw over more.
To get a good jump as poster above said watch the catcher

Default lead is 10.4 ft. haven't seen statcast for extra step(cause I don't) but i think its between 13-14 ft. hard to get back at that distance.
