Time to reward ratio

You have to spend an unprecedented amount of time to earn the cards popular to the majority of players. This takes away from the fun of the game and just makes the player grow to dislike it. My thoughts are that I was really happy with the gameplay this year and the content, but grinding for s1 collections is grueling and some of the most un fun I have had playing a video game

I mean do you expect the best cards to be handed to you in the first week of the game being released?
Gotta put in some time/work to have nice things

You can use those cards all year if you chose… also S1 cards I believe can be used during S2 as well. So you’ll get to use them for quite a while.

Plus... one "Wild" card, right?

You have an easy option if you don't want to spend time: spend money.
An even easier option: don't do it and just play with the cards you can earn in the most enjoyable way to you.
Absolutely no one is forcing you into a specific option. This game, beyond most UT modes I've played, really is a choose your own style. Most other UT modes force you into the cash only option for very good cards. SDS hands them out like candy if you have the time, or you can open your wallet, or choose not to chase at all.
I think we all got seduced by what TA, POTM, etc were two years ago when you could have all the cards within a relatively little time investment. That was not how it should have been. Do I think it's more grindy this year? For sure, but I have choices.
Reality is the only reason I find it grindy are my OWN personal choices to complete the collections otherwise the time I've invested for the banger cards I've earned so far without spending is quite reasonable IMO.

Is this your first mlb the show? I feel like it’s one of the less demanding games compared to the last few years. You can get a team of 92+ in a few days. Of course the popular cards are going to take an “unprecedented amount of time”, the game has been out for a week.

This game is throwing and unbelievable amount of cards at use for minimal effort, in years past the team I have right now took about 3 months to get.
