The game is not fun because of the hitting

Heres an idea....set it to casual, beginner and mash away.
I did just that today, became so much better, well i set it to casual at least. Casual/All Star, started crushing every pitch. LS Acuna is a home run machine for me now.

Practice and get better. I documented my early struggles in other posts, but to summarize, I spent the first couple of CQ maps winning on my pitching, typically going to extras and getting 2-3 hits a game.my pci wasn't close and while I did get a lot of goods my timing was terrible.
Fast forward 5 days and I'm getting 60%+hard contact a game and putting up 4-6 runs a game or more, just almost perfected mini seasons and about to sweep the playoffs.
Yes,hitting is much more difficult this year, but if you "Git GuD" it's the best it's ever been -
-
Yeah I have to disagree I love that it’s not a slugfest anymore
-
The game is way more realistic this year and people that are not good are mad because their miles off the pci very late swings no longer get rewarded. End of story.
-
That’s awesome guys I can’t wait until you’re all moaning at the end of June that nobody is playing like you all did last year.
-
I was decent enough to earn 99 Trout last year no problem. So I feel comfortable in saying that I’m probably better then most people…

It’s difficult but I’m a fan. Finished the Event to 25W and BR and while my batting average is lower still putting up a few runs per game. Just not getting rewarded for poor PCI placement like we did last year.
Thank you sir, there is a big difference between hitting being difficult and SDS rewarding bad input, they have taken the crutches away from some players

Where did you put it to casual? I thought DD had to be competitive. I tried switching it and it still shows competitive.

Hitting is harder, but I'm still enjoying it a lot. I'm definitely not really good in this game, but good swings are mostly awarded and bad ones mostly are not, feels fine for me.
Maybe perfect/perfect swings should have a little bit better results, feels like lot more are outs than it should be. But I have no data about it, so we will see, if some tweaks will come.
In general, I love 23 much more than last year and I'm having a blast playing -

What y’all crying about today
Yesterday was hitting, today will probably throw meter, let’s wait and see

SDS….please disregard this post. This is the best hitting has been in the game. Please do not adjust anything.
-
Have to make adjustments to your approach. I forgot the new shift rules are in the game so certain players it's not home run or bust with me anymore. I changed my approach and I'm getting more line drive base hits with power guys

Apparently hitting is too hard.
I am not playing this years version, but NEVER respond to trolling owl. That comment it posted is the ONLY comment it ever makes. I learned very quickly to block it.

I have never worried about my pitching . I thought last year's game was a pitching simulator. This year I have never given up so many hits, runs and homers. It's crazy. It takes my full attention which it should but the people I have mostly played online are hitting with no problem. Especially down and away in the dirt. I don't know how many painted sliders or cutters I have put in the lower corners outside the zone to get them blasted out . I would have to look but I was around a 1.7 era last year I bet I'm a 5 or something now.
I'm hoping these goons ranked up and go to their sweaty paradise and leave us scrubs alone.

I don’t think being able to hit pitches on the corners would be considered “sweaty”.

I meant more in the dirt.
Whatever I ain't complaining I love the game just trying to adapt.

It's way easier to complete the BR program that you are giving yourself credit for. Completing the BR program gives no one any idea of your skill level at all

Couldn’t disagree more. Hitting feels great to me. Most realistic feedback we’ve had in a while I think. But every year half the community hates the game or something about it, so it is what it is.
