Does anyone actually like how easy they’ve made it to get all the best players in the game? Am I the only one that actually enjoyed having to put some effort in to build my team? I played for one hour and had a full team of 90s... what’s the motivation to keep playing? I don’t see how this game lasts. 3 days in and I’m already bored. I can’t be the only one.
I noted that I prefer silvers and golds early, too many 99s around endgame. Every hitter is OP, almost like a cheat code. Game is best early, until this year as they give out 99s on day 1. Weak

Personally I would have preferred they went in the completely opposite direction. Cap out the rewards at 85s to start. That would make silvers, golds, and live series players actually have a purpose other than for collections (they might as well be hats or jerseys). And when you got that first diamond, it would feel like an accomplishment. If you pulled a diamond, it would feel like a huge win. Call me crazy, but it seems like that would be a fun game.
The community has been quite vocal about how SDS has capped out rewards early on and nerf what should be good cards (April POTMs for example) just to meet these requirements. SDS has listened to the community, thought outside the box when it comes to how to improve on the fantasy card-collecting type of modes of sport games. We understand that you may not like it, but the majority of the community asked SDS to come up with something different and they did.
Not sure if you can speak on behalf of the community nor that the "majority of the community asked them to". Some will like it, some won't.
I'm not speaking on behalf of the community, the community has been speaking for itself over the past several years.
This is a ridiculous comment. Of course you’re speaking for the community. That’s literally exactly what you did. Which is fine, but own it.
You are truly stubborn in your ways, my friend. You came to wrong place to get your confirmation bias needs here! All you have to do is check out the history of this community forum, all the other community forums on this game, and the history of social media articles on this game to find out the majority voice about this topic. Either you learn to enjoy the game or not is your choice. I am willing to bet your prediction of this game not lasting is not going to pan out like you think. I wish you happiness in life, my friend, and maybe you should go enjoy something other than this video game in order to find that happiness!
Surely you see the irony in your refusal (stubbornness) to acknowledge a view different from your own.

I for one have bookmarked this thread because it will be fun to come back to this after a few months.

My TA mini seasons lineup
Lf-. CH Rickey
Cf- AS Hunter
SS- AS Story
RF-Cpt Harper
1B- CH Hoskins
3B- AS Bryant
DH- TA JD Martinez
C- CPT JT
2B- AS Taylor
and my best hitters so far are Bryant and Taylor, both gold's, but with the tier 3 CPT boost from Harper....
Pitching- CPT Kershaw and all LS dodger pitchers. ATM I am 7-0 in my run.
with captains silvers and golds can play as good or sometimes better than diamonds. I think the flexibility of lineups and various captains making many many more cards good it will be fresh and exciting for many people for a very long time. I was skeptical at first but it looks like SDS really nailed it this year. -

Season 3 doesn’t start for 4 months. The majority of people won’t last that long. It will keeps things fresh for diehards. But I don’t see how this game holds the interest of the majority of people. Maybe I’ll be wrong. But I’m already bored and usually I don’t start feeling like this until month 2-3.
I expected this to happen when they introduced it (insert LeBron meme).
Same. But I was hopeful they would come up with something interesting. Now it’s just the same game as every other year fast forwarded a few months when every card is a 99. My favourite part of the game is when shitty cards are relevant at the beginning of the year. And getting a diamond is actually exciting.
Well to each their own. I play a few hours a day and have so much content and cards I haven’t touched, this will keep me busy and entertained for months. Last year I ran out of content after a week and was playing the mystery map over and over. I’ll take this model every day of the week.
I'd rather each year differ from the previous. Good or bad, it's different with different challenges. Appreciate the diversity

It’s definitely common knowledge that the start of the year and using lower rated cards is considered to be the best part of the game. Creating a false narrative isn’t going to change peoples minds.

Basically the way I see it, instead of one long slow grind where we finally get the cards we want and half the people have stopped playing, the game will be 6 shorter cycles. Get that Chipper card and use him online all you want, come July you can’t use that specific card. Meanwhile you can work on the next card to go in his place. Personally, I think it’s a great move and most of the people I know who didn’t want the game this year are now playing and enjoying it.
I guess we’ll see how long that interest lasts. I just don’t see what’s going to keep people motivated to grind.
This wasn’t done to keep people motivated to grind, it was done to keep casuals interested for 3 months before they all move to madden. For those of us who have played this mode for awhile it’s a fresh coat of paint, brings a bit more team building strategy into the mode for those of us who remain past July.

Everyone loves it now. But I agree. This is going to cause issues for a lot of people come July. Those of you acting like July is a long time from now, I envy you. Feels like it was just New Years the other day for me.
I already have a lot less interest than probably ever with DD at this time of year. I have no need to do collections, already have the cards I want without spending any money on stubs. The cards I do get now, won’t even be playable in 2 months.
Which sucks because I feel like this is the best gameplay has ever been. Still excited for the game and the improvements but I don’t think this is as great of content schedule as everyone is making it seem.
It’s basically SDS forcing you to buy 4 different versions of the same player or not use the player at all. I miss the silver/gold days at the start of every year.

Well there is some merit to his thoughts, there is a reason why 'leveling up' is popular in gaming in general. Starting the game with 90s-99s really takes the build-up away. I know they are trying something different, but the build-up/level up of your team is much more rewarding

But you still have to "level up" and play with lesser cards to unlock the better ones. Its not like we're getting full 99 squads just for logging into the game. We have to grind with those TA henchmen to get to the captain cards and the charisma series. Even the team rewards for completing the LS are low diamonds.
Since Friday, ive finished the WBC program and all the TA conquests....my team overall is still a 92. I get it...there are people that drop real cash on the game to buy every card imaginable...and those are the people that will be gone by season 2 while most of us are happy with our 92-93 team and ready to grind for more.

Yes, but I meant from scratch. Like Bronzes/Silvers to Golds and upward. They should implement some type of reward system for the lower card build up teams.

Exactly this. Even with me taking Friday off I didn't marathon the game for those 72 hours... I'd play for an hour or so then I'd do a chore that normally waits til the weekend, play for another hour, run an errand, play an hour then end up binging a show on a streamer for atleast an hour (or more if the series hooked me) and now that I've been working this week I usually play an hour or so once I'm home at around 6pm-6:30pm and then usually around 8pm I'm watching shows, wrestling or game(s) the rest of the night and if I'm still up at 10pm/11pm I start playing again... I also have a notebook where I have written down the parts of the game that I have played and work my way through that list so for example tonight I'm going to start a Mini-Seasons and see how many games of that I can get it... unless I like what I see what Weekly Wonders at which point I'll probably start with that tonight.

My exact thoughts when I purchased this year's game and I had an entire team of diamond players in the 2nd night of playing. The only way to make this make sense is by having more restrictions for Ranked Seasons similar to how they do the competitive tournaments throughout the year. This way there can still be a million diamond players but the live series at least have some value and oh by the way, there's actual skill involved by the user.

I’m pretty sure this change was well thought out, can’t see them doing this without any type of plan for the future
