A Little Disappointed

They made every difficulty harder by changing the hitting. Squares balls aren’t squared. Perfect timed will be rolled over or popped in the infield. In the off chance you square one, it’s a deep fly out
Yeah not a chance, this year by far has been the most accurate in hit types, I never felt a ball I squared up has been "rolled over". I know when I have timed something up and squared it up vs being early on a pitch and rolling over for a ground out.
I definitely think it is more rewarding this year for a well hit ball. The sound of the crack of the bat and then watching the ball get launched! And at the same time, if I miss just slightly, then it is no longer a homerun and is well short. I agree with the accuracy of the hits has improved this year.

There’s entire threads on here about the change in perfect/perfect hitting. It’s the biggest difference in gameplay
-
Per the OP's complaint, I think I do agree that playing the CPU on rookie should lead to way more HR's by the user. The grind this year will be less enjoyable for sure...

SDS….Please disregard this post. Hitting has never been better. You guys did a great job making the game feel like real baseball and not some arcade game like NFL street.
-
Hitting is feeling the best it’s felt in a very long time. As others said, please do not change hitting
-
I’m not talking about HR’s or making it a Midway game or anything like that. Objectively, the hitting has changed. Those who’ve playedThe Show for the last decade notice a difference as there hasn’t really been a major leap in hitting dynamics like this from one year to the next in a while. The change has added to the difficulty to score runs. Again, I don’t want to play Slugfest, but I also want to stretch my teams legs a bit

I’m using the new bat PCI and when I truly square up a pitch with good timing, or get a Perfect/Perfect, exit velocities are great.
I love the hit variety as well as there’s more gappers and top spin on line drives for contact hitters that make those would be lineouts fall in for hits this year.
The only gripe I have is it seems I lineout a ton but nothing new there. Haven’t had any issues scoring once I got used to the new timing windows

Change it and we RIOT! Well... maybe not "riot". But we will write some very strongly worded complaints.

Settings are locked during DD play. I’ve hit 1 home run during conquest play in almost 10 games with a stacked squad, and I swear it Jose Canseco’ed off the guys head
I'm having a different experience than you. I have played completed all the Conquests maps (except USA map where I'm half way done), played a handful of vs cpu games, and 10 Events games. I am pretty sure I've hit a HR in each of those games minus maybe one Conquest and one Events game. There are a lot of hard hit balls that have bounced off the walls, but HRs are still there for me.
Same for me, if I mess up it's definitely user error. Working on the USA conquest map right now and I'm finding myself swinging at everything just trying to speed it up. I have noticed the pitch AI is pretty hilarious though, seems based on where I have my target pre pitch is where they throw it. Like if I start high they will throw 12-6 curves 3 feet over the strike zone haha. If I stay center center they will throw meatballs.

Also keep in mind, it’s the beginning of the year and even though you may have a better lineup than what is normal early on. It’s not the 99 cracked god squad you ended with last year. I remember thinking the same thing last year and as I continued to play I started hitting better at every level and veteran was more like arcade mode. Just stick with it.
-
I think the hitting should be slightly adjusted nothing major to start just a slight one and go from there and I will admit I am only a slightly above average player but the hitting is making the grind hard to bare in my opinion.

Step up to the challenge. 22 to 23 is an interesting adaptation. If you want 22, play 22, else improvise, adapt and overcome. It's really that simple.

My Very Early No Doubter with Dee Gordon the other day begs to differ.
-
I'm not a good player by any stretch, but for some odd reason I hit better on All-star than veteran. Started out this year using vet on conquest and quickly switched to AS because vet I was smashing the ball and getting only a couple runs per game. Try All-star

Are you a former Marine? Only other time I heard someone say improvise, adapt and overcome was when I was in the Marines.
