I can see using an Opener in BR. I can see using an Opener in some Events.

But using an Opener in an Event where you can only field Common pitchers?

    Makes no sense.

It does actually make sense. Relievers and Closers, even commons, generally have higher H/9 and K/9 compared to starters. Often better pitch repertoires too. So it definitely makes sense, especially in a short game like an event.

It also makes sense because relievers generally have more stamina if they are all commons

And because it’s 2023 and nothing really makes sense which actually kinda makes sense.

Most of the relievers I've seen starting as an opener are in the low 20s or less. They're gassed before the end of the inning.

If you look when you are picking your starter, it shows the relieves having more. I’ve faced several relievers who started in the event.

Makes sense also when you are trying p5 some common relievers for the fun of it.
