RIP Tim McCarver
-
Man.
This crushes.
We were lucky as Mets fans to have him do our games over the years on our Channel 9. I'll never forget how he brought then Mets broadcaster, Ralph Kiner to another level. Ralph was a Pirates legend, but he became a beloved Mets broadcaster as well! Isn't it weird how players who played become legendary broadcasters for another city?! Ken Singleton comes to mind as one.
Tim loved the game and it showed. He had fun doing games for sure. He worked for all 3 major networks as well, I believe.
He was the man, and you can tell a good man as well. He was no slouch as a player, which many may not know.
It hurts a lot, but let's celebrate the greatness of Tim, instead of feeling too sad.
Maybe they can get him in the game, since Bob Gibson is atm.
