How is it fun

Tried to play seasons for the first time. Got beat 4-0 and then 9-0.
Zero hits for me, and 9 homeruns for the other players. I play an hour or two a day 3-4 days a week. How come I keep getting matched up against guys who let everything out of the zone go and hit homeruns on anything in the zone? Seriously, and the one guy that beat me 9-0 replayed every homerun
I hate online play. It’s so [censored] CHEESY

What is cheesy about players beating you? You are playing ranked seasons when it's only the dedicated players left, what did you expect?

Play Casual mode. There are no records to keep in that mode and you'll find more players without super teams on there. I usually have good games on casual online where most ppl play straight up baseball and not many exploit the game for winning at all costs.

OP is right. There are still plenty of cheesers out there, but the situation he describes is NOT cheesing. However, the guy replaying every home run is rubbing it in his face, which is not cool in my opinion. I wish SDS would remove the ability to do replays during online play. If a player wants to flex on his home runs, then he can do it after the game is over.

Stop playing RS. Play BR. It's fun, the returns are huge and uts way more balanced. I am not good at all. Yesterday in my league, the dude threw a 9 inning perfect game against me. I finished BR yesterday, earned Trout and made close to 800k stubs along the way. Win lose or draw you progress.

I have a question for you then. I am probably the worst online hitter around. I am playing 20 and 21, but don't like forking over stubs when I need so many cards. As a really weak hitter will my reward be worth the investment?
I say this as a serious question and not a complaint.

Honestly I'm not sure how active the previous seasons are, meaning how many people are playing online. 22 changed it so you are playing with 3 cards that have missions at all times in addition to the stat missions, so even if you hardly ever win, you still make progress. The stubs you spend on BR are recouped very quickly. Even if it takes 10 times or more to enter. The bronze, silver and gold cards alone are worth a good amount. I would go to the end of the reward path and see what the card rewards are worth. I have 21 downloaded still, I'll take a look and see.
You say you're a bad online hitter. Trust me I am as well. I have improved greatly because of BR and you rarely face a pitcher higher than Silver. This will help you improve.
Are you playing 22?

Let's say you can average, on a low end, 2-3 wins per run. And since you get at least 1pt per win, without counting the Mission bonuses, you would need at least 50 entries to get to 100pts.
That would cost you 75K in stubs.
Now you can sell the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Mission players as you get them. But unless you plan on playing every season where you can get them again; you'll need them for Collections if you want Brett, Cutch, Rollins, and or Mantle.
That leaves the Diamond Rewind pack at 88pta where you get one of the previous 90pts players like AS Doby and AS Santo (just to name a few). Then at 90pta you get the current reward which is RF Goose now.
Then at 95pts you get two of the previous Flawless players like Milestone Mullins and RF Cueto (just to name a few).
Then at 100pts you can select either Finest Trout, Takashi Johnson, Finest Cluber, or Post Season Seager. These 4 are going for around 500K to 1M stubs.
So for a 75K 'buy in' you can potentially get at least 4 aemi-expensive to expensive Diamonds that you can keep towards collections or to sell.
Now if they eventually add more Flawless rewards, than the 4 current ones may eventually end up in the 90pts packs and can be obtained again if you decide to sell the first ones.
So, yes. It's worth it. Even if you only avg 1 win a run and you 'invest' 150K in the mode.

21 seems to be be mid level activity, but I get far more action on 20 as far as online goes. No, I didn't get 22 because I still have a lot of stuff to do on 20, and while I finished all the player programs on 21 I still have about half the moments to do and haven't done franchise as I am still grinding out my RTTS player, but I find the 20 version more fun I am playing that a lot more.
I don't plan on getting 23 unless I somehow finish one of the other two sets first. I would like to see if I could get all the player cards but am struggling mightily. Especially on 21.
I haven't been doing BR because you need to use stubs, and I don't have a lot of those. I mean I have stubs, and it's not keeping me from doing anything, but because the stuff I need is now pretty high end stuff so the stubs I have won't get me much.
I am starting to grind out some low level flipping, but I really hate that as it feels like a time sink to me.
Thanks for the information. I know I sometimes let the frustration of grinding show when I post.

Don't we all. Grinding can definitely be draining and online play can also pinch the nerves. You always seem pretty cool and straight forward. Dude, I'm gonna a mess around on 21 and see what has big value. Have you worked on Team Affinity in 21? You could make mountains of stubs as you can do all 5 at the same time.
If you're not directly working TA....that is the best offline program and will give you a bounty of stubs, packs and great cards.
