If they just toned down the CPU defense sliders it would be a really good mode. Its the only problem I have with it

I like it, just wished it was toned down a bit. I’ve been doing MTO if you’re looking at going after TA’s. It’s not that bad

I plugged my ps4 into a newer tv with a better input delay and showdowns have actually been easy. Make sure to take the good perks like inner peace, heart attack, and ice in the veins.

I have had an up and down relationship with Showdown...but once you crack the code it is a way to make money and gain great cards.
-
Get hitters. You never lose because you didnt get some out. A silver SP and RP can accomplish the goals. The one exception is Ohtani who in my mind is the MOST valuable Showdown card.
-
Take more hitters than you need. EVEN if you dont have a position for them. The ONLY parts that really count are the actual Showdowns in which you arent feilding or hitting. So I put my top hitters in regardless of position and you should have a 9th guy who is there to pinch hit and stay in as needed. The rest of your bench should be filled with guys with speed or hitting

BE PATIENT - yes starters hit the corners. However, if you select a zone they will eventually throw meatballs. I have noticed its around pitch 20 that they start getting tired. I also noticed they rarely ever throw 3 strikes in a row let alone 2 strikes. This is probably the most imporant thing. BE PATIENT and wait for your pitch. When they start to fail...it all comes crumbling down quickly

Hitting Perks only - The showdowns are against pitchers so pitch perks dont matter. I prefer the one that are contact boost in bad counts or with runners on.
I view Showdown as the last pyramid piece in getting to 60 Affinity. start with the silly mission, Innings with players collection then Showdown. The Showdown should put you over to get the FoF and/or 4k
Granted I have only done ALe and ALw. I think only the NLe would be going against Scherzer, DeGrom and maybe Strasburg at some point. But Cole, Sale and Morton I think are as tough as any.
Good luck

I finally beat the 1st inning showdown just now. Not sure how Jansen was dotting the ball at 90 pitches and zero energy, but it's done after 17 tries.
I'll say this the bronze perk that forces a meatball at 7 pitches is invaluable.

No, showdown is good.
