Ok so what is the solution? Stop releasing cards because you personally are happy with what you have?
No. Again, others feel different. I'm just saying that right now until the release a 99 Pedro, Aaron, and Mays; I could use whomever I have in my lineup now and be content.

I like how two people won't have the same exact lineup and it makes things fresh; but it's getting to that time of the year when content drops don't impress me.
I know others will think differently; but everything that was released today, and what I have earned/have yet to earn, doesn't come close to being useful to me.
I hit the 90pts in the BR Reward Path and got 2HH Napoli and sold him. Why? Because I don't need him. I have FS Davis and TN Perez penciled in at catcher. And once I hit the two other packs (Diamond Rewind and Flawless) I'll probably take Pedro (to use) and sell whichever Flawless is going for the most. Wanted to take Mullins and pair him with AS J-Rod after I P5 FOTF Trout. But with Griffey coming out next week; Mullins is the odd man out.
I have no use for Riley as I have Lightning Devers at third and Finest Brett waiting to be unlocked.
Now, I'll still complete the July MA Program; but I'm not in any hurry.
I honestly think I'm pretty set roster wise, so other than a better 99 Aaron, 99 Mays, or if I ever get the NL LS done and get Clemente; my outfield is set.
First base is 99 Ortiz. Second is FS Brujan until I get Jackie. And shortstop is Awards Bogaerts.
Anything else that is released is just, for me, collection fodder and I may not even have a spot for McCutchen.
And even if I sell anything that's sellable; it's not like I need the stubs.
I know others won't/don't feel this way and absolutely love that Lightning Riley; but to quote a line from one of my favorite movies.....
I'm starting to think the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
The only thing that can excite me at this point is a hitting patch.

Grinding for that new card has not been as exciting as it was in '21. Ex: I made it my mission to keep up with the June program and get whatever lightning player is at the end. BUT there are SO MANY points and moments needed, and for what? A slow lefty hitter that I would probably prefer my ovr 92 RF Shohei instead anyway.
I think OP does have some points. The grind versus the prizes at the end havent been matching up this year.
In '21, I found it way more fun to grind a few inning bosses. Grinding and getting 99 Eddie Murray and 99 Babe Ruth from inning programs felt way more worth it than any of the programs going on this year.

But if you’re still using FS and FOTF cards that means you’re not even trying any new players at all so what is exactly the point of this thread?
I mean use who you’re like but using FOTF when there’s pretty much updated and improved cards of a lot of the same players seems like playing backwards imo

There is no rule that you have to collect cards you have no intention to use. Just play RS with the squad you want.

I see your point. But the only modes I use different cards in are BR and Events.
Now, who knows how long it would take to get Napoli to come up in a BR draft; so that leaves Events. And since this Event is tailored to only AS cards or Program specific cards; he wouldn't be used until he is eligible.
I figured it would be better to sell him now and take the chance he drops in price when I do need him. If not, and I pay a premium, that's on me.
Also, to 'use' him to see if I would like him better than FS Davis means I would have to get at least 50-75, maybe 100, ABs with him to get a good sense of how he plays.
So I'm either throwing him in a Ranked Seasons lineup and hoping that there isn't a freeze off or that my opponent actually plays a full game or I'm throwing him in a Play Vs CPU lineup and playing on a high difficulty as we all now anything under All-Star vs the CPU isn't a true test.

I bought map yesterday put him in my lineup and played a ranked game. He did well and I liked the card so I’ll keep him
If he didn’t do well for me or I didn’t like his swing over a period of X amount of games I would sell him
It’s a video game it isn’t heart surgery

All my playing time the next few gaming sessions would have to be focused on doing moments for that 97 Yordan. Not worth the hassle, I'll just play some offline, and an online game or two, and I'll either unlock or buy a card similar or better.
