Just bought a monitor, please help

I bought a 27” ultra gear monitor but there’s no sound. I got the volume up to 100 and nothing. This might be a stupid question but do you need to bye speakers separately? It’s not like a TV with built in sound?
-
Pretty sure you need speakers. At least that’s the case with my LG Monitor as I had to buy speakers to go along with it.
-
Check the specs, probably doesn’t have built in speakers

How do you do that? What specs? The manual that comes with it?

Ahh man that sucks if that’s the case. I thought they come in with built in speakers already lol

You can still use headphones. Most monitors do have sound through HDMI, although really poor quality. Not sure about yours

You can google the monitor model and series, a lot of websites offer this info (including the manufacturer’s)

Wow who buys something so blindly? Do some homework before you buy something.

I actually did I checked the response time and needed it to be 1 MS which was the biggest thing I was looking for. 165 HZ. But I had no clue some monitors don’t come with sound lol I thought it was just a given thing that they all come with sound like TVs

I do!! Pretty sad too, cuz for $300 bucks you'd expect the monitors to at least have some kind of audio output....but, yeah, no lol. Sometimes we learn from our mistakes.

A viable option is to use a headset and make the console output the sound through it, that’s what I do when I want sound. My monitor doesn’t have speakers either

I have an ultragear monitor and did the same exact thing as you, not knowing I needed a separate speaker at first. I just bought a little JBL speaker and it works great, sounds perfect. Any speaker you can plug in with a headset wire will plug right into your monitor. First day with a new monitor you will be early on pitches online instead of late... lol

Why are you irritated with someone about how they spend their own money? Lol

my monitor's sound is crud, and didn't by it for that. I very simply hooked up a good blue tooth speaker with an Aux cable and it's fine.
