I'm playing The Show 21. I like to play baseball games for fun. I don't play online or competitively. I created a player that is a suped up version of myself when I played growing up lol. I made his speed a 99 and started a franchise with him. I noticed his speed dropped to a 96 and then eventually a 95 and I don't understand why. I think it's the dumbest thing ever. I mean why does it do that??? There's no way to change it. If you go to his attributes in roster speed still says 99 but in game is 95. Also he is 3rd in NL in SB and tied for 2nd in triples which should be a positive for his speed attributes lol. I just don't get it. Anyone know how to fix it??

It has to do with the coaches on the coaching staff. Your player may have attributes at 99 but if you have coaches that have a negative effect on that attribute then the in game attribute number for your player will drop. Say you have a manager who’s speed attribute is -3 and a couple base coaches or whatever with -1 then it will add those up and negatively effect your players in game only

Franchise mode is the only mode that has coach attributes. So, in that mode, you will want to look at your coaching staff and minimize the coaches that have negative attributes!

Now I know. I also noticed that if your power or contact dropped, or anything else really, you can turn it back up to where you wanted it and it would be corrected in game. Speed seems to be the only one that will not go back up once it drops. I find that interesting. But at least I know to look at the coaching now!
