people will go crazy and not in a good way, considering belli would have low contact vs Left it wouldn't be worth it. My guess is A rod this year, that commercial he did with Griffey jr, Randy, and Ortiz just gives me a feeling A rods coming this year, that and the phillies legends like utley, howard, getting huge 2009 Ws vibes.

Because it is asinine to have the collection be a 97 lefty first baseman (or terrible OF) for a collection that includes a 97 lefty first baseman. If they were going to keep the award a 97, then it should have been for effectively anything other than a first baseman (or terrible defensive OF).
Also, due to D and speed, the Ruth 99 is never usually a “meta” card when it finally comes out, so having it come out early for a change to give him time to shine would have been nice as well.
Yeah, it's Babe Ruth! People just want to play as the Babe.
There are so many other interesting cars there could be and players not seen. From Ted Williams to Satchel Paige. Yet for many fans they don't know these players.

It’s not a direct comparison but is any card really worth locking in a million plus stubs?
You’re just paying for the name in most cases. Otherwise all of these Future Stars dropping this week will basically play just as well as any other card.

It’s all about swing (personal Preference) since none of the legend Players have Active quirks like live series cards have .

Makes sense for the game, just not the price tag that will be associated with it IMO.
Let's focus on that, the price tag is high but it won't be forever, if someone wants the new Shiney toy they are gonna have to pay for it. Not like that is a new concept in this game or in life. SDS is not going to hand out rewards this year like in 21 which kinda ruined the game, Babe should be a rare card for the next little bit makes the reward worth while

He's not a first basemen he's a primary outfielder who will maybe have 1B as secondary
If you are viewing him as a 1B primary that's on you
And his silver fielding in the outfield isn't even bad normally people just tend to treat any outfielder that isn't Buxton/Griffey/Mays/Mantle/Trout level fielding as Nelson Cruz. As long as dives are still broken silver fielding in the outfield is more than fine. We all know the drill though, when they release another Takashi card via headliner or Event reward next week someone will come here and whine that they paid 500k for Maddux

Can't wait for the freak out on Friday when to get the big collection done you will need 90% of the cards in the game and the market shoots up and people saying it's a money grab even though you could wait likely just a couple weeks and get ot dome

In fact Babe Ruth played more games in CF at 74 games then he did at 1st base in 33 games
If this community views him as a 1st basemen then that is on the community an not SDS

I'd like to see it as well. So long as his fielding is average and his speed is something north of Stanton -- really, SDS, TWELVE speed?! -- take away the 1B secondary. Do it, SDS, we dare you.

He’s basically the only exception and a big reason to go along with yours is that you need 4-5 starting pitchers.
Anyone else isn’t even close to a 1mil+ worthy price.
