Can anyone at SDS please answer the following?

In the Gameplay 6 Update it states the following:
Users are now limited to pressing R2 to view pitch types once per pitch, for up to three seconds.
How does this actually prevent people from still being able to abuse R2?
If I read it correctly it means that for EVERY pitch the pitcher attempts to throw you can still hold R2 for up to 3 seconds. That's all anyone needs to mess up someone's pitch imput.
So I can start my AB by using R2 for 3 seconds and the pitcher has to wait that long to throw their first pitch.
Then I can hold it AGAIN before they throw their second pitch and then again for their third pitch. And so on and so on until your next batter. Then it starts over again.
If an AB lasts at least 6 pitches (3-2 count) that's means my opponent can hit R2 a total of 6 times for around 18 seconds.
How is this going to stop people from abusing this?

Well, it does stop the people who tap it over and over on a pitch trying to mess you up, tbh atleast for me holding is easy to counter, I just "hold" my pitch, take more time to throw etc.

18 seconds? Oh my God my whole life just flashed before my eyes. Holding it doesn't effect your pitch at least so as long as you wait the 3 seconds you don't have to worry about them being a douche and tapping the button

The multiple taps is the biggest issue!
Now, with this patch, if the user does it just prior to windup in an attempt to cause a ball to float right down the middle of the zone in a BS gamesmanship manner, the one-time-per-pitch stepping off the mound is super useful!
Before, the step off the mound was good for only the first time they did that, then they were still able to continue their attempts after my step off move. Now this cancels out that intentional disruption of the pitching process.
I think its still a band-aid to a bigger problem, but at least it addresses part of the problem!

You know this reminds me of the part in the movie about Freddie Mercury where the producer complains about the length of Bohemian Rhapsody
