All Canada team, need help
-
I’m making a Canada team just to break monotony of losing; might as well lose with a team I like.
Criterias are as follows: present/former Expos or Blue Jays player, and Canadian born/raised players. Former Jays/Expos must have played at least a game with the big club, so no former prospects like Cliff Lee. Prospects cards like Lopez are in.
Observations: LH hitters are slim pickings, and while it will get better down the line, it’s not going to be a good balance: Tellez, Votto, Naylor are all 1B. Delgado coming; if Olerud came back, that would be one more. No more Alomar.
That leaves us with Walker, but his 84 for now stinks. Which leads us to my next observation:
The OF is deep, and all are RH hitters: Teoscar, Gurriel, Vlad Sr, O’Neill, Dawson. None with CF primary and that means benching a good bat. Springer and Pillar are not better than O’Neill and he’s the best of the bunch defensively, but still a downgrade to Teoscar or Vlad at the plate.
The infield is adequate in the field, and except for 1B, still RH heavy: Tellez-Lopez-Donaldson-Bichette. Danny Jansen is ok behind the dish, but again, RH.
The rotation is stacked, with Randy (cartoon)-Stroman-Manoah-Ray-Pedro-Gausman to start.
Not listed: Freeman; feels like a cheat using him, cost, and want to keep JD at 3rd. May eventually cave but we’ll see.
Vlad Jr: $$$$
Moreno: $$
Biggio: 71 ovr bench bat (ouch) unless he has a great FB card like last year’s milestone one
Any input? I just remembered yesterday that Naylor was Canadian because I looked at his supercharged card. Feels like I’m missing 2-3 good one, budget permitting.
