Platform Exclusivity Despite Not Being Linked To TheShow.com Account

Last year I was exclusively an XBOX user and planed to use that as my primary console again this year. I picked up a Switch copy figuring that I could link them and have the option to play on that on occasion as well. Long story short, something is screwed up and I've spent a lot of time emailing support just to get the same canned answers back every time. My XBOX account shows its connected to a PSN account, but not a TheShow.com account. In game, the xbox account gives me the option to link. When I paste the code into my show.com account, I get an error stating Platform Exclusivity. I can't create a new account to try and link it to. I can't "break" whatever link supposedly exists and I can't just add the Switch to the existing account. Am I out of luck and moving on for good at this point?
