No, and actually Alienware monitors are really good. The only thing you can't do if you don't have HDMI 2.1 is play games at 4K while running 120hz at the same time. So it'll be either 1080P@120hz or 4K@60hz, if your monitor is 4K compatible. Which I don't think Alienware monitors are. They could still support VRR though. Google the type of your monitor and look for either the terms FreeSync or Gsync (both are what people refer to as VRR, Freesync is AMD version and Gsync is Nvidia version but they are the same thing).

They are known to have extremely low input lag, great motion handling and also good picture quality even though they are often limited to 1080p. But those are all the things you want when you play a game like this.

So I need to turn freesync on in monitor settings for vrr? Thanks in advance!

Yes, and also don't forget to turn it on in your PS5 settings. Now you have read that you can't play online with these setting as of right now, right?

Yeah it most likely can run 120hz, Alienware are amongst the best monitors used for PC gaming and they usually have panels that support 240hz. But again, if you want to know the specs for sure you could do a quick google for your monitor type and you'll find everything you need.

I only have HDMI 1.4, so I know I can’t get VRR since that is only 2.1. But my tv says it has freesync. What am I missing? Will my monitor have screen tearing or not at 120hz? It says freesync to avoid that but I don’t have the higher hdmi.
