Key phrase here is All Star difficulty. You’ll see a lot of YouTubers who are great players recommend cards based on their own experiences…and they play mostly on HOF and Legend.
Build your squad for the game YOU will be playing and for Pete’s sake learn how to hit pitches with velocity.
Hitting velocity is fine. It's the darn sinkers. They look like a curveball out of the hand, then they look like a fastball, then you swing and the ball marker is 8 inches below where the fastball you thought you were late on was going to end up. They don't even appear to be moving that much. Another year with glitchy sinkers.
Just faced P4 Mussina in the event
His sinker is just broken. Sinkers again this year are broken
They clearly don’t know how to fix this pitch. As it functions currently, it’s just absolutely physics defying and a joke that it breaks like this
I doubt they’ll ever get sinkers right and until they do, might as well abuse it like everyone else
What a fun experience
It's the fact that they rise up out of the pitchers hand like a breaking ball then dart like a fastball. Agreed they are broken again. You are more likely to guess your opponents sequence and sell out on it than you are of naturally reacting to it like other pitches. By the Rome your brain goes "curveball, no wait sinker!"... it's past you.
Yup, I have the approach of sitting on heat and then reacting to off-speed
With the initial break of sinkers, you essentially have to sell out to get good timing on a swing at an inside sinker
The way the pitch breaks is so completely unnatural that you have to guess to hit it like you said.
And fwiw, I won that event game against mussina but wow, his sinker is unreal (literally) and I don’t even want to see the 99s in the future that have even better sinkers
I’ve mentioned before, I use sinkers religiously because with how bad pitching is and how often opponents make ridiculous contact, sinkers (and cutters) seem to be the only reliable pitch to get outs or weak contact with. And as we’ve seen, even then that weak contact is rewarded waaaayy too often
Game is simply unenjoyable

Yup sinkers, cutters, and changeups. You could get by just fine with these pitches alone.
