I have been a positive supporter for a long time but SDS needs to get their sh*t together before charging $70-$100 for a bugged out release.
I still don’t have stubs returned from missing orders from 10 days ago either ( and not just a few silvers , but significant stubs)

Yeah, this will be the first and last time I buy the preorder. I'm definitely coming around but there are so many defects to this game. Anyone that lost stubs, cards or whatever should have been compensated within a day or two plus extras for the inconvenience.

If I'm not mistaken; you started late last year.
But this SAME thing happened last year. Stubs, cards, orders, etc randomly disappeared. While they eventually fixed most of them; I remember some people not getting their content back at all.
Add in the horrible servers (you couldn't even get on from 5pm - 10pm PCT) and the early release and the owing three months or so we're awful.
They eventually gave us a 'Compensation Bundle' but I think everything in it was unsellable. And by the time they gave it out most people already had what was in the bundle. I even remember people griping about non-sellable Diamond equipment from people who didn't even play RTTS.
-
Everyone always says they will never pre-order and never buy the game again. I say the same garbage. It's the only baseball game around. They have us by the berries. I'll see you guys in 11 and 1/2 months staring at the countdown for the 4-day pre-release at midnight.

While lost cards over the first few days is a significant issue, overall the servers were definitely a lot worse last year. The game was unplayable for hours during peak times almost every day, there was server maintenance every morning, and the market on the website kept going down. I think it was a mess for 2-4 weeks. After going through that last year I kept my market activity pretty light the first few days in case cards were lost.
I'm glad the servers seem to be holding up a bit better this year, but I don't understand how they have even more bugs. Not being able to get reinforcements in conquest on Switch isn't a minor issue that only comes up under very specific circumstances that they may have missed in play testing. I realize it's a new build of the game, but come on. That's the equivalent of driving to work, picking up a coffee and bagel on the way, greeting the security guard at the entrance of the building, stopping by a buddy's office to chat for a few minutes, and then finally sitting down at your desk and realizing you forgot to put on pants.
As for the compensation bundle, it was pretty useless to me last year. I forget all the contents but I know the big ticket item was a no sell 42 series card, and by the time they sent it out I already had them all locked in to the collection. I doubt they do anything similar this year for what they probably consider to be "minor" bugs, but I'm holding off on the cover card collection just in case.

I get you man...I'm usually the first in your position to point that out. And of course when it comes time, especially if I'm active on these forums, I'll really want to just cave.
But last year, I actually bought the game the day it came out and then didn't play for almost a month because I just wasn't into video games. Then when I did start, there was so much content to catch up on, the next 3-4 months were a blast.
I agree, the servers have thus far been much better than what I heard they were last year (knock on 🪵),
I hope the content comes around. I do enjoy the setup of this program much more than the innings program, but TA not being there is huge hole. I feel like a bought a Van Halen album with no guitars.

Isn't your biggest gripe about TA being gone that there isn't as much to do? There is just as much to do, it's just all in the same place

I'd be lying if I said I don't miss the 6 loaded rewards paths, not to mention the daily moments rewards path. I guess I was the weird one last year who took his time grinding each path individually and not using exchanges or collections to finish them. But you're right, there is a lot packed in there, but it's just all incremental progress. I could do what I did for TA, bit I wouldn't really get very far or much return.
Plus we had 2-3 player programs per inning, 2 evolution player programs per month for Daily moments and 3 extra large conquests for TA.
Last year it felt like everytime you played a game you came away with something and accomplished a goal. Stadium cards, jerseys, TA packs, equipment, lots of stubs, 30 TA bosses, all the innings rewards.
I totally understand that last year was overkill but it seems like an extreme overcorrection. If Mini Seasons worked properly and if they add missions to it, then I think that would help fill the void, but so far I haven't touched it because it apparently doesn't work.
I freely admit, I'm a
wh0re. But I have to keep reminding myself that it's early. By the time I started last year we had 6 weeks worth of content.

I get what you are saying. It's going to be impossible to release content in a way that satisfies both online and offline players. I haven't seen hardly any online players be super upset that TA is gone. I'm all for free cards but someone should have to put in a little bit of effort to get them. We are going to have different opinions on this, and that's okay. You are probably the most genuine dude on this forum so I do value what you have to say.

Thanks Dragon, you help me keep the faith hahaha. I absolutely understand why this is beneficial for online players and that TA last year caused everyone to use No hitter cards, outlier, DeGrom, Cabrera etc. And you're right, the two will always pull against each other.
I'm sure as the season goes on, I'll come off this TA hill I'm trying to die on. I am really looking forward to Mini seasons and have a feeling once they fix it, there will be new missions and rewards added. I also think, this is a good opportunity for me to start playing online more. I really enjoyed BR late last season.

I might be in the minority but I'm having a blast this year so far. I feel like this is a much smoother release than in the last few years. I have had no problems with this connections or freezes or lag or anything online. I even feel like all the stadiums run pretty smooth but I am on a ps5. I don't know notice the MLB stadiums being bad like they used to be.

im happy to hear that - i never noticed stadium lag even on my ps4 pro but yeah the ps5 is smooth as butter - i wish the backend game was coded properly - lots of us missing cards / broken modes / laundry list - still freezes too apparently

I just wish Sony would buy them a warehouse full of servers I think that would help a lot of the problems a game like this timing is crucial and the slightest bit of lag can throw the whole thing off. Makes me wonder if that was part of the problem with the swing feedback. What I see on my screen may not be what someone sees on their screen but I really have no idea about any of that technical stuff it's just a guess

This is comical. I’m not in here complaining. About PCI placement by my opponents when I dashboard ( like you). I am talking about broken game play. Freeze offs, mini seasons counting wins as losses still when it was called out almost 2 weeks ago, hundreds of thousands of stubs missing.
These are inexcusable and non debatable issues
