DH
I'm trying to reserve judgement on the game, but when no DH was announced it really took the wind out of my sails and made me much less excited to play tonight. It's quite ridiculous that MLBTS 22 doesn't follow the rules of MLB in 2022. Side note: Shohei is on the cover and you still can't use his card as a hitter when he's not pitching like in real life, at least in your most popular game mode.Featured Programs
Introducing more randomness into the game is not a good idea. I hate that you've chosen to randomly give players a card from a CHOICE pack. Not only that, but it is impossible to EARN all 30 FOTF cards. This feels like a ploy to encourage stub purchases by making 18 of the 30 cards ONLY obtainable in the marketplace.Randy Johnson
It looks like you pulled another Pedro. He was the most exciting new legend introduced last year and very few people used his card for long. Why did you not learn your lesson? I hope you tone down the crazy high H/9 Milestone SP cards this year. If you don't, this card will be very lackluster by the time most of the community is able to obtain it.Please share your thoughts below.

Yes, if you want ALL 30 of the new FOTF cards NOW; you'll have to buy them. But chances are they'll eventually be released in future programs, Conquest Maps, etc.
No way they make 18 of them only available via the market. Especially if they're going to do another Mega Collection.

I'm almost always positive and excited about this game. This stream truly bummed me out.
Team Affinity was my favorite program- its gone
There were 0 new conquests
Mini seasons looks cool but hardly makes up for all the stuff that's been removed.
Featured programs could be cool if they change them up but as of now, this game feels like a huge L.
-
I actually got more excited to play by the stream. Teams should have a lot more variety at the beginning of the year which is great.
Stubs are very important this year.
Featured Program was an L though.

That's the only program. No TA, no Player Programs,no new conquests.

I warned everyone earlier… if Randy Johnson’s best card is in a mariners uniform, I’m going to start punchin groins. Everyone got fair notice. So don’t come crying to me if you haven’t protected your nuggets. I’ve got my punching gloves ready to go.

I am a 95% offline gamer that really enjoyed this game because you didn’t need to play online to earn rewards and there was a continuous flow of offline content. If this will no longer be the case this year, I regret spending $100 on a preorder for a game I might not play. Oh, well.

I hope you're right about releasing them in future programs. I'd be fine with that. I would also be fine with Randy if SDS doesn't go crazy with H/9 again this year. I'm absolutely not fine with the game not having the same rules as Major League Baseball.

I said this in another thread but it’s worth repeating: gameplay leaves much to be desired, but the SDS content team has earned the benefit of the doubt. They will give us plenty of opportunities to earn rewards. I imagine the next conquest map will have some FotF choice packs, for example. I’m sure they know that their gameplay is pretty shaky at best so they’re not going to set fire to the one thing all fans agree is working

If I remember correctly they didn't release any Conquest Maps until after the game officially released last year.
You have to remember; early access is that. Early access to what's currently available.
They're not going to give a handful of players access to EVERYTHING right off the bat.
-
It will be a mistake if it doesn't become possible to "earn by playing" all of the FOTF card. There will be more conquests coming, for sure. They just were showing the ones available on Day 1. I wouldn't worry about getting conquest maps. They'll be coming.
As for Randy, I thought the same thing the moment they showed the attributes. I said to myself, "he's not going to match up to cards released later."
I really hope they tone down the Topps Now, All-Star, Home Run Derby and Finest cards a little. Not a lot, but at least a little. Marcus Stroman's 2021 season wasn't better than Pedro's prime (and what could be the case this year with Randy).

Why can't you just punch the meat like Rocky Balboa instead? That way, no one gets hurt.
Why go below the belt, Brandon? 🤪
If there's no DH, then that explains why there's a Trophy/Achievement for hitting a HR with a SP!
I'll reserve judgement until midnight, or so eastern. -
I mean, they went so far in the "you'll get every card" direction last year, that I don't see how they can walk back from that. It would lead to massive disappointment for a large majority of their players (and, fairly, me included). We'll see how things go, I guess.

Well…because then I wouldn’t get to punch nards

Focus this year should really have been gameplay over content. Hitting is still a problem, “Perfect-Perfect” is not perfect. SDS knows how to do in game content and does it better than Madden and 2K.

I think that's part of the reason everyone is so against the changes. I'm not going to say anyone's opinions are wrong and completely defend SDS on this one. I get where everyone is coming from. It looks bad and could potentially ruin the only good thing this franchise has going for it. I'm just going to wait and see is all

The DH thing doesn't really bother me because people don't really need a 9th 99 overall in their God squad lineup. Also if stamina isn't fixed AND there is a DH there would be literally no reason to use the bullpen.
I can understand why people dislike the random FotF packs and TA being gone tho but I'm not gonna hate on it until I actually see how it plays out -

To be fair, we haven’t played the game yet so it’s premature ejaculation to say that hitting is still a problem.

Your logic here is two wrongs make a right? Stamina needs fixed too. I assume it has been but who knows?
Universal DH is the rule in MLB. It should be the rule in MLBTS. It would also open up a lot of bat only cards that rarely get used now.
Maybe they didn’t add it because they still haven’t fixed 2-way players in DD. Covering up one bad thing with another and allowing the cover boy to still have some value.

I don't even like the DH rule, but the game should reflect the rule. Which in DD has never been right for years now.
