    How many innings must you pitch with your SP, before you can bring in an RP, in order for that RP to be credited with a Hold.

    I know you have to have/protect the lead. But I'm looking at when that RP needs to be called in.

    I'm trying for two holds with Silver pitchers, for a Daily, and I brought in LS Javier, in the 3rd, with a 2 run lead and it credited him with the win and gave the Hold to my Bronze RP that was brought in during the 4th inning.

    I even pitched the 5th with a Silver and my opponent quit in the top of the 6th. I assume since I already had a 4 run lead; that's why I didn't get the Hold for my last pitcher.

    First, you need to understand when a pitcher is credited with a win. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/standard-stats/win

    After that, any pitcher who comes in for a save situation and holds down a lead while making at least one out and DOES NOT end up getting the save, will be credited with a hold.

    I'm not sure how it works in a 6 inning game but in 3 inning games it's like the Wild west. The hold rule makes very little sense in the Show. If I'm playing a conquest game and I'm winning 6-0, 1-0 or 12-0 or any other score you can think of (as long as I'm ahead) after the first inning and I bring in a reliever for the 2nd inning, he will get the hold, unless I leave him in for the 3rd, then he'll get either a save or nothing depending on the score. I have tried this many times to figure it out. I get a hold every single time in the 2nd inning regardless of how asinine the score is. @raesONE_PSN is correct in a real game, but in the Show it's funky.

    In a 9 inning game, pitchers only get holds in the 6th and 7th innings regardless of the score, as long as you are winning, doesn't need to be even remotely a save situation, but they never get a hold for the 8th inning. I know this is not how it really is in baseball but I have tried this exhaustively and in the Show, these are how you get holds.

    No clue how it would work other than the 3 and 9 inning games.

    Probably should've mentioned I was trying to get them in an Event game.

    Pretty sure in 6 inning games the starter has to go 5 to get the win. It makes getting a hold next to impossible with the 3 batter rule.
    However, if you pull your pitcher before the 5th inning the next pitcher will get credit for the win and any pitcher after that doesn’t finish the game and pitches in a save situation will get credit for a hold.
    For example, you take a lead in the 1st inning, you decide to replace your pitcher in the 2nd. That pitcher gets credit for the win. You change pitchers again in the 3rd, he would get a hold. Then you change pitchers again in the 5th he would also get a hold, as long as he isn’t the last pitcher on the mound at the end of the game.
    This all assumes you have the lead and no ties or lead changes happen.

    In a 6 inning game you can get a hold like this:

    1. Pitch 5 innings with your starter, make sure your lead isn't larger than 3 runs;
    2. Put the RP in that you want to get a hold with (margin no larger than 3 runs means this is a save situation);
    3. Intentionally walk the first guy, then get 2 outs. Do not turn a double play if you get the chance. This is because of the new 3 batter rule and you don't wanna risk the CPU lining out for the final out, which will give you a save instead of a hold. That's why you walk the first batter and don't turn the DP if the opportunity presents itself;
    4. Bring in another RP for the final out. The new pitcher will be credited with the save, the previous pitcher will get the hold.

    You can try and get 2 holds, but you'd need to IBB a bunch of guys and actually IBB some runs in with both guys just to surpass the 3 batter minimum. You should still lead the game while doing so. If somehow the CPU ties the game on your 3rd RP, the hold will still count for both relievers before him.

    You can also just IBB guys to tie the game, then score a run or 2 (or max 3) and rinse and repeat endlessly. You could get 7 holds and 1 save. Be creative, use your head.
