DD hitting VS offline
-
Okay so everyone knows the last patch messed up hitting terribly but I noticed that it's completely different online vs offline. I just won the WS I'm March to October on legend hitting. I really didn't have much problem other than being early on everything. Went back to playing the event, which is on allstar, and couldn't catch up to a 93 mph fastball. How is allstar pitching faster online than legend offline. Like, it was night and day.

Played a RS game last night after showdown for most of afternoon. SP was Ohtani and it felt like he was throwing 400mph.

Same question I have been asking myself as my son and I tag team MTO for TA cards.
Same deal with pitching.

So Is not just me. Playing offline I felt like the best in the world, even on legend. But, on RS I cant hit a fastball even on All Star.
Did you guys find any solutions?

Combination of internet lag and I think online pitch speed may be tuned slightly higher? But mainly internet lag. No different than in NBA 2K, playing offline the response to everything is much quicker, shooting passing all that. Where online there is a small delay to all the inputs you make.
Same w/ the show. Madden is really the only game where lag is not that noticeable from online and offline.

It's a combination of connection, higher pitch speeds online, and shorter swing timing window online.

Lag my friend. Do what you can to reduce it on your end, but it will always be present in online connections. I'm a teacher, and online school is a PIA due to this. Maybe someday we will get to the point in technology where it isn't noticeable. Until then, adjust and just have fun if you can.

Definitely lag is a big part of it, but it has to be something else as well, or on their end. I'm using the same connection I've been using for 3 years, this is the first year I've noticed these issues to this extent.

The something else as well is COVID 19. Everyone is working from home, watching netflix, video chatting friends, and playing video games. As Bandwidth usage goes up, your connection quality goes down.
This is true with all forms of internet, but especially true if you are using Cable instead of fiber.

Yeah I’ve noticed it in the event too and thought I was just getting progressively worse at the game. I felt like I had to sit on fastballs to be able to catch up to them when it was never like that for me.
