If they just fixed the bunt cheese in 16 or just late in 17 we’d have the perfect hitting engine?

Why to bunting bother you ? Isn't it part of the game ?

I think 17 was miles better than 16. Not even a argument for me. I wish people would go play 16 again and see how bad it was and realize how far hitting has come. The hits in 16 were ALL programmed. Just lates weren’t oppo home runs, but they ran down the line perfectly EVERY time, there was no in between until 17. If the ball came off the bat for a line drive it always looked the same, and went to the same spot, dribblers through the infield always the same spot, loopers into the outfield always the same spot. There was like 20 different hit types. It was extremely consistent, but about as advanced as TapSports on your phone.

When 17s engine came out the outcome possibilities multiplied enormously. Loopers and dribblers actually looked real, the physics are much better, the ball can do things like spin and curve foul which it didn’t before, the problem is they have lowered the skill gap to grow the community, so although the hitting is much better, the outcomes aren’t consistent.

They could easily have a near perfect hitting engine if they wanted too. They just don’t.

Yep ever since 18 came into existence it’s pretty much been downhill. I’d gladly go back to 17, that was the last game stick skills actually mattered.

stick skills in 17? lmao just late be great with a gigantic pci and slower pitch speeds.

Do you really think they mattered in the 2 most recent versions? Where you can hit a homerun by completely missing with your pci

Yes Gucci. The slow pitch speeds were in 18 like slow pitch softball. I would take 16 or 17 in a heartbeat over what has come out since. I played way more online then to because for me it was a better experience.

Bunting is still sort of glitched, I’ve played games online where no matter what I do or where throw the ball, people are getting a lot of non PCI bunt hits against me.. I know it’s coming, I shift my defense for it and throw the ball out of the zone and still non pci bunts are finding there way into play for hits.

Because in MLBTS 16 it was literally impossible to stop the bunt. Even with all the defensive adjustments possible you would still get cheesed to a loss because the infielders didn't react quick enough and bunts were executed to perfection almost every single attempt without error. It was a huge problem. That's why I knew you have never played that game.

Oh that must have stunk , that would be terrible if that happened again. Thanks for educating me.

That was the worst part about that game. Next was the fly ball to the outfield that would literally hit the outfielder in the head who was positioned right under the ball.......but the hitting engine was good😁

Sheeit. 22 is still cracked. Balls hit right in front of the pitcher or catcher are always a hit. Ridiculous. Slow runners can't beat out a dribbler right back to the pitcher in real life, so the shouldn't be able to in '21 or '22.. or '20... or at all. Hit right in front of the catcher and a diamond fielding player acts like he's caught in quicksand. It's pathetic.
