So, does SDS eventually put up streams, or any other kind of information, on what to expect with the new release; so people can decide if they want to buy the game or are we supposed to just head into the new game with blind faith?
I'd like to know what to expect with the gameplay/content before I decide if I want to buy the game day 1. Or even if I want to preorder.

Come on dude, just pre-order. I mean this, the game is more fun when you're posting all year. I know some give you a hard time, but you're clearly passionate about the game and we've had lots of good threads on here.
