    Show nation site says:

Try the new Mini Seasons™ mode, where each season brings new challenges as you face off against a new set of competition!

Personally, I think this news is 10x more exciting than any cover athlete, night mode create a stadium or any other "fluff" aesthetic content we got.

'20 got Showdown as a new game mode and '21 got nothing. Showdown was dumbed down a lot this year (thankfully) but its still not very enjoyable with the "all or nothing" nature of it - having to beat the boss for all the vouchers.
I get that after a while it's hard to develop new game modes but I think the mini seasons is promising for the following reasons:

    • Mini - whatever it is, mini suggests it'll be short and hopefully more frequent. The Ranked Seasons seasons do feel long. Meanwhile the offline modes like conquest are too short and mundane (I'm tired of just bunting with a 1-0 lead in conquest to make it go by faster)

    • Seasons suggests it mirrors RS, but offline. I'm hoping its kind if like the Babe Ruth program from '20 where you beat each divison, or in the mini version you face 10 teams and need to win 8/10 to reach offline World Series (or its equivalent). The fact that RS and Conquest were the only 2 places to use your team is ridiculous.

    • Program XP - hopefully this will provide a nice way to get XP as well. Felt like something was missing when they switched from program stars to XP. Maybe this bridges the gap.

I think you could also see extra innings reworked into a squad battles type mode.. I know they made it more prevalent towards the end with XP missions, but I could see it becoming a nice offline seasons mode with rewards.

No clue what mini seasons will be, but I agree it sounds promising and there should should more ways to use your team.
