Yes. That’s exactly what it is.
Like for some moments they prepare several weeks in advance. They take a snap shot of the players at that time and then you play the moment several weeks later. For example, some moments have Rizzo at the Cubs even though he left months ago. Some moments only have your player as a parallel 1. Even though you got him to P5 weeks ago too.

If we get the universal DH, then it's bye bye. Technically the pitcher does bat about every 3 innings, so there's the realism they're going for. There's nothing like smacking an XBH as a pitcher in some Moments, though.
