Pitching exploit found. Need a fix ASAP
-
Im not seeing this on the message boards so ill drop it in, but maybe its already on the SDS radar.
McGunski has a youtube video detailing how any pitcher with 99 control on a sinker or change up can consistently put a pitch low and in, placed where it is impossible to get under the ball due to PCI limitations. The batter is doomed to ground balls, and if you use the shift, doomed to ground outs more than 90% of the time.
The PCI does not reach the 4 corners of the strike zone, so perfectly placed downward breaking pitches (and pinpoint allows consistent perfect placement) is a meta that will quickly break online play....as this knowledge spreads.
SDS has information i do not, so im not sure what the quickest, most effective fix is, but it is an issue that must be addressed asap.
Just trying to keep my favorite game at its best.
Thanks SDS. Cheers everyone!

It's really only a problem on Legend due to PCI size. HOF it's less problematic and on AS it's not an issue.

I doubt they are addressing anything gameplay wise at this point in the year. What we have now is what we get I think. I could be wrong, but I think 21 was just the guinea pig for crossplay/nex gen. 22 should be a better platform and game engine....we hope.

So easy to hit these pitches on legend

Which is why I kind of don't want it to be fixed. There are only 2 fixes for this issue
1.Expand the range of PCI movement, which would make Allstar and Hall of Fame worse
2. Increase PCI size on HOF and legend-Not the worst option, but I'm not sure its the best solution either -

I think it was meant to curb good contact on pitches just off those areas but with how the PCI works you're not at a disadvantage except low and in. Late timing usually puts the ball in the air, so anything up or away you can get around.
If they expand the PCI range all the way to the corners, good pitches just of the corners will start getting squared up. I don't think anyone wants that, because those good pitches will end up right in the PCI smash zone.
If they would just reduce contact ability and exit velocity on pitches outside of the zone, the game would be more consistent. I mean sure guys can go out of the zone and square stuff up, but statistically speaking it's far from the norm.

Thanks for the clarifications. I didnt realize it was only a "legend" problem.
I imagine since the highest level players will be the ones with the biggest issue, they will have to address it. Ive never seen anything that leads me to believe SDS would abandon their game before the season is even over. Not to mention, they are just starting professional cross platform tournaments, and the competitive scene cant be expected to play for real money prizes with this kind of exploit out in the open.
Itll be a good test of SDS's problem solving skills.
Thanks for all your thoughts! Cheers.
