Scouting/MLB Draft
-
I started my Pirates franchise recently and got to the MLB draft last night. Because I’m using the Pirates I had the #I pick in the draft and was super excited about a bunch of prospects. I was choosing between a starting pitcher and a couple of Outfielders. I ended up choosing one of the outfielders because he had a 2022 ETA and was only 19 years old. He was a LF and had secondary positions of both CF and RF and also 1B. I was planning to move him to 1B because he wasn’t a great fielder and had a weak arm but he was easily the best overall hitter in the draft. In the 2nd round the other OF I was considering with my first pick was still available! I couldn’t believe it! He was a CF with secondary positions of both LF and RF and an ETA of 2023. So long story short I get to the end of the draft and I’m looking at the players I drafted and players all the other teams drafted and I noticed that not one single player had secondary positions listed any longer. Every player bio now said NONE under secondary positions. I know I could go edit this in but that is a ton of work to try and do this for a bunch of players across the league. Anyone else had this issue? Is it just a bug and does SDS know about it? Any help would be appreciated.

I’m not sure of the answer. It’s one of those things that I wish, is that you can play a player at a new position and they can learn it.

So I started up a random franchise last night with the Tigers and simulated to the draft. I drafted position players only that had secondary positions. After the draft I looked again and every player I drafted once again had no secondary positions listed. So I simulated the rest of the season and the offseason and got to the beginning of the 2022 season. I went to my roster and the players I had drafted now had their secondary positions back. So obviously its just a bug that happens after the draft.
