Can Somebody Please Explain Extra Innings

You play other squads from the community where their team acts as CPU? 3 inning or 9 inning game? Are your stats and ranked points effected by wins/losses?
Just looking for what this game mode is in simplest terms. I have never played this before.

I have played Extra Innings a few times over the past week and it was a lot of fun. Much better matchup than playing MLB teams on CPU and nine innings is great. Would love to see some sort of season mode for Extra Innings type games.

So your ranked points do not get effected, right? But your player stats will be effected?

Maybe your offline stats....but I don't think online stats are impacted at all.

I like playing extra innings because it doesn’t resemble MLB Slugfest. MLB teams pitchers just get raked with your DD squad it seems. It’s also a good practice method before heading into ranked I find.

Yes ,and you can earn good xp and stubbs playing extra innings mode. Recommend allstar difficulty ,doesnt mess up your timing .No cheese. Good honest game vrs Custom teams controlled by CPU . It is in fact Ranked season played honest IMO . Games go on your record vrs CPU but not your opponents record.Extra innings mode is under rated.Its a great way to build your team and enjoy good fair 9 innings.Not for the Cheesy.Uniforms and rosters are always surprise

Liked it better before 21 ,it was working fine so they changed it.Now you can only play certain teams .Beforehand 20 ,19 and so on you could play anybody with a standing record other than BR. Number one ranked immortals would come home from work and beat the wife for a loss you handed them.

Never done that, the CPU would suffice. The idea of it for me was playing a team about my size instead of the mismatches I was getting tossed into online . Never could figure out why I kept drawing 97 overall teams with a record of 56 and 4 when I was rated 80 overall and trying to win one in spring training division.Since the games in extra inning mode l only matter to me i keep them fair as possible . Even stick to my pitching rotation. You can look at my history to verify. But I must admit I do jump on the occasional 77 rated team when having my coffeeand need a dog to kick. I have lost a few of those too

Evey controller I have owned has its share of bite marks, no dogs around here either.

I recommend you pick teams in the WS tier, HOF difficulty, those will always have the better players, it’s a much better experience than ranked, from a competitive stand point too.
