The animations on fielding bunts and throwing home need to change. The inability to pick up a bunt, while in bunt defense, and throw out a runner with 40 speed at the plate makes extra innings unbearable.
Just make players that would never bunt in real life suck at bunting. Power hitters laying down perfect bunts on Chapman's sinker outside the zone is ridiculous

Yeah, I've also had that failed-to-pick-up-the-bunt in events this year. I think it was Troy Glaus who has good D stats. Poor fielding and throwing (bad animations and lag, or both) is honestly the ruin of playing online modes. I picked a defense-first lineup for events games today (breaking my personal boycott of online play) and I got the 'terrible hop' animation. The last time I tried playing events games, I had lag so bad the game didn't throw from first to get a runner on a successful pick-off. Today was kind of the last try because I'm really put off by these snakebite animations and the lag, but that terrible hop animation when I'd picked fielders with good D stats was honestly no fun. I know, I know, it's baseball, but still, I could have gone for a much more offensive-minded line-up and I guess that would have been the sensible play if the RNG is going to play that way and have great D players unable to make basic plays.

It sucks I scored in every extra inning (4th,5th, and 6th) but he kept bunting and there was just simply nothing I could do about it. The firsrbaseman would pick the ball up with plenty of time to get it home but it's like he had to gather to throw the ball 10 feet instead of just get it there with any urgency. I don't remember who the bunters and runners were I think the winning runner was ruiz, we all know what a burner on the base paths he is lol. Game is good at times, but all the online cheese really sucks.
He did get a single, but in the 4th and 5th he wouldn't have scored without the bunt cheese and I would have won.

I don't know how you perfect bunters do it. Pitches way out of the strike zone with guys who don't even have good bunt ratings and it's perfect every time. I wish I knew how you did it. I can't even find any YouTube videos about it. If someone can tell me the secret surely karma will reward you greatly some day.

If we needed to move the pci to bunt the cheese wouldn’t exist. Bunters usually can’t hit

Just lost back to back games in the event to this… it’s amazing how hard it is to play bunt defense sometimes…

It's the animations man. Run squeeze plays against the cpu and watch how fast their fielders get the ball and throw it to the catcher. It's a flaw in online gameplay and I hope they fix it. Bunting should be a skill few batters are capable of doing successfully with ease, and joey gallo shouldn't be one of them.

Me too, I put together a speed lineup and made my opponent think I was going to bunt cheese and got some juicy fastballs, lol… this is how bad this thing is
