Shohei all star

For those of you who have the 99 shohei, is he worth it? All the cards you have to buy to get him are expensive. Is he that good or not? Opinions? Please don’t respond with ‘best pitcher in the game’. That is not good enough. Thanks

Not worth it at all. But I did it anyways. Your better off using his Derby card and parallel that one.

I've been wondering this as well. I did some quick math in my head so it may not be entirely accurate but it'd cost me about 700k to get the HRD and AS cards I need to get Ohtani. For me the question is, how is he as a pitcher? Obviously I'm sure he can crush the ball based on his attributes but if he is just mediocre as a pitcher I'm not sure I would use him. I didn't pitch all that well with his card from late last year but this one has better pitching attributes so I'm curious how he does pitching wise.

The cards will come down a lot once the packs get released more frequently just like they did for 99 Jackie. If you don't already have the cards then there's no way he's worth the price tag. Eventually he will be very cheap. 99 shohei will be a voucher for the next big collection so yes he is worth getting. He is good in game but nit worth what the cards cost now. I git him the 2nd or 3rd day he was available and don't regret it at all.

The scuttlebutt is he gets crushed a lot. He’s been decent for me. Not lights out, but not as bad as people have said.

Yeah, I've heard some say he gets crushed a lot as well. That's what has me hesitating to spend the stubs to get him. If I struggle to pitch well with him I might not even use him that often and in that case then, I'd just wait until the prices come down to get the cards I need. If he pitches well though, I'd spend the stubs now to have him right away.

Just really depends on who you get matched up against. Some guys are gonna hit about anyone. I’ve also had him mow down poor players for like 18ks over 7 innings. He’s fun to use. But you could also get your Ohtani fix with the 95 card. Parallel it up its not that much worse hitting.

I use him just because I have him and I only have him for a future set. Is he worth the price? Depends on the future set.
