Looking for some good pitcher cards with the "Pickoff Artist" perk. I want to catch more of those pesky baserunners vs CPU! Please provide me with suggestions, and include the overall of each.

Successful pickoff throws don't happen enough for me (but Bench's throw to second gets them consistently when they attempt to steal), so I need to add pickoff artists to my rotation and bullpen. It would be easier if there was a way to search for cards based on quirks.

There might also be something I'm doing wrong with the buttons. What do I specifically need to do to make a good pickoff attempt?

    Thanks!

If you're talking vs. the A.I., successful pickoffs are almost impossible. There's even a trophy for one that I got on the 4 and am trying now on the PS5.
What I do is alternate between the quick throw and the 'look at runner' button which is L2, I believe. Watch the runners arms which can swing back and forth, and if they're leaning towards second.
A lot of it is RNG, as well as succeeding in beating a rundown vs. the A.I.

Thanks for the tip. 🙂 I hate how rampant RNG is in this game. What really has me peeved is that they coded the first baseman to not be ready at 1st base for a 9-3 putout. Loved getting those.

Is it me, or does the game purposefully lock your baserunner in place sometimes when the pitcher picks you off?

Not having the 1b playing his base gets me on those quick hits to RF where the fielder can actually make the play but instead the 1b is playing off

ESPECIALLY when the runner is Molina or someone with 0 speed

It seems like they are locked in an animation there, now that you mention it. Like they're stuck in velcro shoes 🙄
They also coded, or decoded your 1B man to swipe a lethargic tag when you try a pickoff. That drives me nuts. Never the urgency the CPU has.

I'd Google it, but your best bet is just check yourself. Check pitchers you have and ones you don't have on the Market.

Dunno about the perk but that TA3 Realmuto has 99 arm at parallel one, Hardly anyone steals on him for me.
