CAP catcher

I created a catcher in rtts, planning on putting him on my DD squad. On DD, he is listed as a secondary catcher, and takes the secondary hit, but it says he still has 67 blocking. However, in game, he performs like he is a relief pitcher behind the plate, lots of passed balls. I put Carlos Santana behind the plate (42 block) to see if it was a problem with him or all secondary catchers, but Carlos was great. Is there a certain archetype I need to use or is this just going to be a problem forever?
