I dunno if the project leaders at SDS have low standards. They don't have good QA. Or lazy programmers.
Perhaps none of the above, but they sure don't seem to have the correct formula to make this game believable. I know, a Mr. Obvious statement, but geesh C'mon already.
So, depending on who you want to listen to on these forums they'll tell you that blue bars in pitching are really meaningful. That's Confidence, it's the most important thing in the game. Other silliness that I've never believed, but "typically" don't argue the point. We pretty much know nothing matters in this game unless it's some metric that supports the outcome the AI decides to impose.
Just finished a Conquest match. Before anyone defends the game and says, "But Conquest isn't reflective of how the game really works" or any of that other nonsense. Conquest is no different than Moments and no different than RS. It's all AI decided outcomes. There is one game engine..no more. It's all a crapshoot.
Starting pitcher for the Rangers, Allard, is still pitching in the 2nd inning tied 1-1. I've been purposely wearing him out. He's got zero energy or confidence left. I've got the bases full. Suddenly, he finds the strike zone and starts throwing nearly unhittable pitches. But, I keep fouling them away.
Also, another big goof in the game, they don't bring in a reliever for him (that's just another sidebar failure in the realism department). So, of course, as you would expect he throws a pitch that turns into a double-play out at home (always in these situations) and then to first to complete it. This off of a sinker at the top of the strike zone. A pitch, mind you, that in real life I've never seen stay on the ground and turned into a double play. Next pitch, just for excitement I suppose, the AI animates a deep fly ball that CF catches at the wall. Man, I was holding my breath from pure edge-of-my-seat excitement on that one.
All I can suggest is..and I'll say this nicely.."Please SDS if you don't do anything else next year, concentrate on making the AI generated animation and outcomes believable. Kindly don't keep reminding us how we have no control of this game really."
Skip the hype and "progressive" widgets and focus on what the customers really want...Realism. No new pitching/hitting modes and what not to really convolute things for new customers. Use the KISS method and get back to your roots. Which is marketing a MLB simulation that immerses and captivates the customer base. Not what we've had to put up with for the last couple seasons. Just pure randomized animation. Beautiful animation, but seldom depicts what our controller did.

Um, I'm not expecting anyone to read my words of genius. Butta, believe I mentioned there is only one game engine. It's not RNG in Conquest, it's all the same. Don't try to lift up RS or whatever your intent by suggesting non-online is different than online. If anything, online play is even more flagrantly RNG'd. Because in online play the AI has to make sure it creates a happy parity with all human opponents. So it actually adds in even more RNG to keep the humans happy.
When you're playing the "computer" RNG is WAY more often going to assure that the human player has a favorable outcome, but has to pop up with some farce losses now and then to keep you interested.
I'll stop at 2 paragraphs for the sake of all the illiterates and ADD's.

Love seeing this argument… in what way would not playing they game negate the fact that some people still payed almost 80 for a game that they no longer find enjoyable after only 2 months… imagine being in my boat and buying the game June 18th 2021 for that exact price and finding it unenjoyable after 2 day's( frame rate drops to and only runs at about 15- 25on current gen consoles during actual gameplay… in a game that’s based 80 percent on timing mind you..). People have the right to be upset and voice their opinions…

Ha. Many games have problems upon launch. Seeing as this is the first port I’ve seen from a Sony game to a Microsoft console on such a major scale I’d expect there to be problems. And there have been numerous updates. I looked into the forums and it said that a latency patch was issued in either late April or early may.. so yes sir.. I indeed did the research before purchase. The research is what sold me entirely. Took a chance because I saw mixed reviews even in this forum the most recent thing I could find about the lag issues was from may. I assumed it was fixed before purchase
…. But to tell a consumer “oh well” after presenting a legitimate complaint that A lot of people are facing is a horrible hill to die on… -

Terrible take homie…if I buy a game thats advertised to run at certain specs on the current hardware I own then it should be expected to do just that. It shouldn’t be left to chance especially when it’s something that I’ve seen vocalized in several forums. I believe there’s even a post by one of the devs confirming that it’s supposed to run at 60fps on 1080p…And if that is the case and the frame rate drop has been resolved and is truly a matter of isolated incidents for current gen only… then why doesn’t the game come with a disclaimer on the current gen version?

Way to show me you didn’t actually read what I wrote. As explained. The last seen evidence almost anywhere in regards to the topic was in may. Almost no complaints logged in the last 45 days almost. This was conducive to the mention of the previous patch which stated it addresses several bugs and latency issues. Which was released around the same time the posts about the problem disappeared..It was stated… by a dev in this very forum that it is able to run 60 FPS @ 1080 on the current hardware I own. I legit bought the game on Friday (June 18th 2021)… let’s not pretend my theory wasn’t valid and that I deserve to be punished for purchasing a defective product 🥲
