Defense is an atrocity...

It could be EASILY fixed or at least made acceptable with sliders but obviously we cant use those in DD.

Every infielder can field a ball and throw it immediately like they are Omar Vizquel. Yeah sometimes you'll get that long drawn out animation by 9/10 you can field it and throw on the run and get Buxton running down the line.

To add on to #1.. there's no punishment for bad meter timing. Most of mine are dead center but every so often Ill get that one that's barely in the green. Still hits the 1B square in the chest. I've thrown 1 ball away and I have seen 4 total including mine. In 150 something RS games.

Middle infielders like Robbie Alomar for example, apparently have no range. It's especially apparent when you try to dive for a ball. Literally looks like someone just rolled a dead body out of a van. That's how little ground some of the dive attempts make. Closing speed of Middle infielders is just flat out off.

In contrast to that, OFs can track down anything. They just close so quickly. How many times has your opponent been playing normal depth and you hit it to the warning diagonal 130 degrees from the OF and he catches up to it easily.
I feel like every game I play in RS consists of 6 types of plays on offense. Homerun, strikeout, pop out to the catcher, ground out to the pitcher, weak ground ball to our same side and deep fly out. Maybe it's just me but I have had very few games where there are actual scoring situations generated from singles, doubles etc instead of just bombs.
Oh well I am just venting. Feel free to tell me to stick a parking cone up my [censored].

You are not crazy for recognizing the scripts in action. Your fielders will react more slowly to ensure the play has the intended outcome.
