Can you just hit?

There a way to just hit an not have to field?
-
Yeah in most modes. There are options in the settings for most modes. Make sure you are checking the advanced options as I think they are in there.

Yeah in the settings you can modify both fielding and baserunning opportunities. I have baserunning off because it takes up way too much time. And once I get all my fielding attributes maxed I'll turn fielding off. It still counts a steal here and there even though it's simulated.
And I'm pretty sure a good 95% of the people who have their Ballplayer stats all maxed to 50 did it largely or entirely by simulating everything. Which is a ridiculous oversight by SDS but what's new. -

I don't mind some grinding but this is a bit over the top. It feels so slow and it seems like the higher tier loadouts really push DD play which is kind of odd.

You have to go into the “Mode Specific” Settings in RTTS. From there you can change fielding to none, some or all. Same with the base running. Personally I like to have fielding and base running set to all. I like the fielding and I’d rather do base running where I sit through my teammates’ entire at bats so I can choose if/when to steal instead of having only one pitch to do it on that usually ends up being put into play anyway.
