Something I just noticed about CPU baserunning
-
I was playing a conquest game earlier and the CPU got a single to shallow center. I got to the ball and loaded a throw to first, immediately cancelled the throw, and then threw to second. The runner "knew" I was going to throw to first due to the button input even though the fielder gave no actual indication of it. They rounded the bag and ran to second only to be thrown out by a mile. They never even tried to avoid it with a rundown.
I was able to recreate this two more times. It isn't particularly helpful since the CPU is easy to beat up on anyway, but I found it interesting. I think this is another example of the CPU knowing exactly what you are going to do as soon as you press the button and reacting accordingly with unrealistic accuracy. Kind of like how the CPU will pay no attention to a man on first until you hit R2, and then they throw over, slide step, or pitch out consistently.
