DD has taken a step back this year and here's why...SDS PLEASE READ!

SDS

Last year's DD was ADDICTING and the BEST it ever was!! It was fun, engaging and worth the grind all year. As a developer you build on what you create, not remove and replace.

This year, a few observations that have made DD take a step back in my opinion and I hope SDS is reading:

  1. What happened to the Inning Moments? Where are the moments we played that focused on the careers of the 3 "Bosses"? The Day in History, Boss Battles, etc that earned PROGRAM stars?

  2. Is Showdown essential for having a shot at 300 Stars to get a Boss? If so, that is a crock! It's fun as an alternative to more program stars, since it goes to 1000 now versus like 600 last year.

  3. Update 1.04 today that made adjusted the hitting difficulty just RUINED IT! The hitting PCI in veteran looks like All-Star size. The results are inconsistent: 2 batter, same PCI locate where the ball was hit and 2 completely different results: laser grounder through the infield and other a fly ball to shallow right field. The hitting was CONSISTENT in the results prior to this. PLEASE UNWIND THE 1.04 UPDATE!!

  4. It seems they are forcing you to spend stubs to get deep in the program stars for the Inning Programs. This isn't right! What, SDS didn't make enough money last year??

So far, I'm disappointed. What does everyone else think?

Thanks.

SDS

The patched hitting in 1.04 is garbage. No one was asking them to make hitting harder (other than to make pitching more accurate). This patch has made showdown virtually unplayable for average players. Once again, hitting is great at launch and sds mucks it up.

SDS

They made hitting harder because of all the people on here bitching. Like they do every year. There is a crowd on here that just can’t leave things alone. The game had barely been out.

So thank the same crowd that always ruins the game.

ABSOLUTELY! We go through this every year. It's great then they screwed it up, then they fix it a few "updates" later even though it was fine the 1st time.

SDS
  1. I think these moments are replaced by the player programs (and subsequent moments) which will give you 20 program points for completing it and another 20 for doing an online stat mission. I would've liked to see some more boss moments with the most important moments of their career and a game against the first inning bosses. Maybe that'll still come.

  2. I don't think showdown is essential for getting to 300 points. I'm currently at about 220 and haven't completed showdown. Still, even with showdown, I have no idea how I'm going to get remotely close to 1000 points. Again, I think there's going to be a lot more first inning content.

  3. Haven't played enough with the patch yet (and was in the mood to swing at sliders in the dirt all the time) so didn't notice anything significant.

  4. Only the showdown costs stubs and if you get through to the first mini boss you already get your stubs back. Everything else can be achieved without spending stubs. So I disagree on that one.

SDS

I dont understand how people hit in this game already and now they made it harder?

Yea, I'm not attempting to continue showdown till this 'change' they made to hitting is corrected.

On #2, what else have you done to be at 220? I've done all offline daily missions, and the Granderson collection and am at 120.

I'm still hopeful missions and moments for the Programs are coming because the game is new but since the release schedule calendar through March doesn't mention anything about more 1st Inning missions or moments coming, it concerns me. Last year, they made those announcements in the calendar that more moments and missions were coming. Like every week another 6 or so came out.

SDS

Hitting definitely feels nerfed online. Been playing events past 2 hours and it's night and day between today and yesterday

SDS

So the PCI is smaller on All-Star?

I'm actually a big fan of that change. I didn't want hitting feedback to be tuned, I just wanted a smaller PCI and slightly increased pitch speeds.

SDS

@Catman9186 I've completed the first inning conquest, done all daily offline (except for 1 exchange) and some of the online missions, got hits with LS and prospects online, won 10 games online and collected all the legends. I was able to make crazy profits off of swapping players and selling everyone below a gold from 2 50 pack bundles, so I had enough to buy the 5 legends that I didn't have to start off the year for about 50000 stubs.

This. The smaller pci would have been nice because the larger pci has provided more good/okay for good user input than a smaller pci (which provided good/good and perfect more consistently)

SDS

showdown is just to hard for casual player. if nth is done. i can see myself playing other games for 2020. ps 2019 is the best

SDS

You have played the patch for what 2 hours and are judging it. They made hitting harder because it was an absolute slugfest which really isn't realistic baseball. Sure you have your 12-9 run games but that doesn't happen on a consistent basis. Perfect perfect was far too common.

It's rough now, as it wasn't before

If you want realistic baseball go outside. People were having fun. There’s a major skill gap. But now it’s all ruined.

People are still having fun. Literally won a BR game 13-0 in two innings. Hitting is still there and there is a bigger skill gap now then there was pre patch.

I’m sure the person you played had a ton of fun in that game.

SDS

But if theres a bigger skill gap why am i getting matched up with these people? I swear everyone i get matched with is 20-5, or something absurd

I have given up on trying for 300 stars unless more content comes out allowing you to gain them. It is nearly impossible offline unless you do the Showdown AND play 10 hours a day.

SDS

Hitting is broken now. It’s feels terrible. Why SDS!!?!

no thanks. go play world series in ranked seasons if you're that great.

This, having a skill gap is a great goal, but many online games don't then remove the higher skilled players from playing the weaker ones, which in part ruins the play experience of the casual players.
